Functional metagenomics is a premise-free approach for exploring metal resistance genes, enabling more profound effects on the development of bioremediation tools than pure culture based selection. Six soil metagenomic libraries were screened copper (Cu) genes in current study through conventional functional genomics. Clones from six randomly selected solid medium supplied with Cu, resulting 411 Cu clones. Thirty-five clones strongest sequenced and 12 unique sequences harboring 25 putative...
Since 2013, avian influenza A(H7N9) viruses have diversified into multiple lineages by dynamically reassorting with other viruses, especially H9N2, in Chinese poultry. Despite concerns about the pandemic threat posed H7N9 little is known biological properties of that may recruit internal genes from genetically distinct H9N2 circulating among wild birds. Here, we generated 63 reassortants derived an and a wild-bird-origin virus. Compared wild-type parent, 25/63 had increased pathogenicity...
Here, we announce the complete genome sequence of a spontaneous mutant peste des petits ruminants virus (PPRV), termed China/BJ/2014, suggesting that PPRV continues to evolve. This information is crucial for developing strategies efficient prevention and control PPRV.
Functional (meta) genomics allows the high-throughput identification of functional genes in a premise-free way. However, it is still difficult to perform Sanger sequencing for high GC DNA templates, which hinders genomic exploration library. Here, we developed procedure resolve this problem by coupling and PacBio strategies. Identification cadmium (Cd) resistance from small-insert library was performed test procedure. The generated (75.35%) bacterial genome. Nineteen clones that conferred Cd...
We report the complete genome sequence of cadmium-resistant Cellulomonas sp. strain Y8, isolated from farmland soil. The 4.5-Mbp contains 4,074 genes, with an approximate GC content 75%. This work might help in understanding how Y8 survives under heavy metal stress.
