In patients with peritoneal metastasis (PM) from gastric cancer (GC), chemotherapy is the treatment of choice. Cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal (HIPEC) are still being debated. This randomized, controlled, open-label, multicenter phase III trial (EudraCT 2006-006088-22; ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT02158988) explored impact on overall survival (OS) HIPEC after CRS.
Donor CD4+Foxp3+ regulatory T cells (T reg cells) suppress graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HCT [allo-HCT]). Current clinical study protocols rely on the ex vivo expansion of donor and their infusion in high numbers. In this study, we present a novel strategy for inhibiting GvHD that is based recipient before allo-HCT, exploiting crucial role tumor necrosis factor receptor 2 (TNFR2) biology. Expanding radiation-resistant host mice...
The ongoing severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic has a drastic impact on national health care systems. Given the overwhelming demand facility capacity, all sectors to be addressed. Solid organ transplantation represents field with high staff, intensive units, and follow-up facilities. great therapeutic value of weighed against mandatory constraints capacities. In addition, management immunosuppressed recipients reassessed during disease 2019 (COVID-19)...
Bioactive glass (BG) scaffolds are being investigated for bone tissue engineering applications because of their osteoconductive and angiogenic nature. However, to increase the in vivo performance scaffold, including enhancing angiogenetic growth into scaffolds, some researchers use different modifications scaffold addition inorganic ionic components basic BG composition. In this study, we vitro biocompatibility bioactivity Cu2+-doped derived either BMSC (bone-marrow mesenchymal stem...
B cells undergo affinity maturation and class switch recombination of their immunoglobulin receptors during a germinal center (GC) reaction, before they differentiate into long-lived antibody-secreting plasma (PCs). Transcription factors such as Bach2 Mitf are essential this process, delay premature differentiation GC by repressing Blimp-1 IRF4, two transcription required for terminal PC differentiation. Therefore, expression must be attenuated in activated to allow differentiation, but the...
Cell adhesion in the multiple myeloma (MM) microenvironment has been recognized as a major mechanism of MM cell survival and development drug resistance. Here we addressed hypothesis that protein junctional molecule-A (JAM-A) may represent novel target clinical biomarker MM. We evaluated JAM-A expression lines 147 patient bone marrow aspirates biopsies at different disease stages. Elevated levels patient-derived plasma cells were correlated with poor prognosis. Moreover, circulating soluble...
Interactions of malignant multiple myeloma (MM) plasma cells (MM-cells) with the microenvironment control MM-cell growth, survival, drug-resistance and dissemination. As in MM microvascular density increases bone marrow (BM), we investigated whether BM endothelial (MMECs) disease progression via junctional adhesion molecule A (JAM-A). Membrane cytoplasmic JAM-A levels were upregulated MMECs 111 newly diagnosed (NDMM) 201 relapsed-refractory (RRMM) patients compared to monoclonal gammopathy...
Abstract The impact of various anchor groups on adsorption behavior AMPS® copolymers was studied. differ in anionic charge density. Copolymer and water retention oil well cement slurries achieved from CaAMPS®‐ co ‐NNDMA the presence an acetone–formaldehyde–sulfite (AFS) dispersant were improved by incorporation minor amounts (∼ 1% weight polymer) acrylic acid (CaAMPS®‐ ‐NNDMA‐ ‐AA), maleic anhydride ‐MAA), or vinyl phosphonic ‐VPA), respectively. Performance these terpolymers studied...
The Arterovenous Loop (AV Loop) model is a vascularization in tissue engineering research, which capable of generating three dimensional vivo unit with cells as well the supporting vessels within an isolation chmaber. In our previous studies AV loop chamber was discovered to undergo hypoxia, characterized by Hypoxia Inducible Factor (HIF) up-regulation. followed increase HIF-α temporally, while it spatially positively correlated level, well. This study aims prove that HIF-1a up-regulation...
Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) promote tumor progression and have an effect on survival in human cancer. However, little is known regarding their influence prognosis hilar cholangiocarcinoma. We analyzed surgically resected specimens of cholangiocarcinoma (n = 47) for distribution localization TAMs, as defined by expression CD68. Abundance TAMs was correlated with clinicopathologic characteristics, recurrence patients' survival. Statistical analysis performed using SPSS software.Patients...
Abstract A copolymer of N , ‐dimethylacrylamide and Calcium 2‐acrylamido‐2‐methylpropanesulfonate was synthesized by free‐radical copolymerization. Its performance as anionic fluid loss additive (FLA) studied measuring static filtration properties oil well cement slurries at 27°C 70 bar pressure, respectively. It found that filter cake permeability API decrease with increasing FLA dosage. Filtrate analysis revealed a linear correlation between the amount adsorbed on surface. adsorption...
Mesenchymal stem cells can be isolated from a variety of different sources, each having their own peculiar merits and drawbacks. Although number studies have been conducted comparing these for osteo-differentiation ability, are mostly done in culture plastics. We selected either adipose tissue (ADSCs) or bone marrow (BMSCs) studied differentiation ability highly porous three-dimensional (3D) 45S5 Bioglass®-based scaffolds. Equal numbers were seeded onto 5 × 4 mm3 scaffolds cultured vitro,...
Introduction: In this study the induction of bone formation in an axially vascularized matrix using mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and application morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP2) was analyzed arteriovenous loop (AVL) model. Materials Methods: An AVL created medial thigh 42 rats placed a porous titanium chamber filled with particulated hydroxyapatite beta-tricalcium phosphate fibrin. group A fibrin loaded 5×106 DiI-stained gel-immobilized primary MSCs from syngenic Lewis rats, B 60 μg/mL BMP2 C...
Background. Tumor necrosis as well tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) in the tumor invasive front (TIF) have been suggested to a prognostic value selected solid tumors, inclusive hilar cholangiocarcinoma. However, little is known regarding their influence on progression and prognosis intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCC).Methods. We analyzed surgically resected specimens of human iCC (n = 88) for distribution localization TAMs, defined by expression CD68, formation extent peritumoral...
