ECE-CYC2 clade genes known in patterning floral dorsoventral asymmetry (zygomorphy) Antirrhinum majus are conserved the dorsal identity function including arresting stamen. However, it remains uncertain whether same mechanism underlies abortion of ventral stamens, an important morphological trait related to evolution and diversification zygomorphy Lamiales sensu lato, a major predominantly zygomorphically flowered angiosperms. Opithandra (Gesneriaceae) is particular interests addressing this...
The genus Hydrocotyle Tourn. ex L. is a key group for further study on the evolution of Apiales, comprising around 170 species globally. Previous studies mainly focused separate sections and provided much information about this genus, but its infrageneric relationships are still confusing. In addition, genetic basis adaptive remains poorly understood. To investigate phylogeny we selected ten representative covering two three diversity distribution centers exhibiting rich morphology...
Abstract Background Delphinium L. represents a taxonomically intricate genus of significant phylogenetic and economic importance in Ranunculaceae. Despite the existence few chloroplast genome datasets, comprehensive understanding structures selective pressures within remains unknown. Furthermore, several taxa this are exclusively found Xinjiang, China, region renowned for its distribution diversity Chinese Central Asian species. Therefore, investigating features genomes area will provide...
Tribe Oenantheae consists mainly of aquatic species within the Apioideae. The unique morphology and habitat distinguish this group from other Apioideae groups. However, genomic information these has not been widely developed, molecular mechanisms adaptive evolution remain unclear. We provide comparative analyses on 30 chloroplast genomes tribe representing five genera to explore variation response plant adaptations. presented typical quadripartite structures, with sizes ranging 153,024 bp...
Based on observations of living plants Hydrocotyle calcicola in the field, together with examination herbarium specimens and descriptions both H. chiangdaoensis (including type material), we demonstrated that is a synonym . The species was previously compared sibthorpioides ; our phylogenetic analysis revealed belong to different lineages, former being closely related larger-leaved clade.
The genus Sanicula comprises ca. 45 taxa, widely distributed from East Asia to North America, which is a taxonomically difficult with high medicinal value in Apiaceae. systematic classification of the has been controversial for long time due varied characters key morphological traits. China one most important centers, 18 species and two varieties. At present, chloroplast genomes are generally considered be conservative play an role evolutionary relationship study. To investigate plastome...
Based on critical observations herbarium specimens (including type material) and living plants in the wild, we demonstrate that Sanicula lamelligera (Apiaceae) is highly variable character of basal leaves, branches inflorescences, fruits. We therefore accept some previous synonyms this species, including S. ichangensis, var. wakayamensis, orthacantha longispina, satsumana, yunnanensis, further reduce pumila, pengshuiensis to its synonymy. Lectotypification proposed for wakayamensis pumila.
Hydrocotyle pseudoconferta was an important medicinal plant. The complete plastid genome of this species reported for the first time. full length chloroplast is 153,302 bp, with a typical quadripartite organization: large single-copy (LSC) region 84,417 small (SSC) 18,767 and pair inverted repeat regions (IRa IRb) 25,059 bp each. H. encoded 133 genes, comprising 86 protein-coding 37 tRNA 8 rRNA 2 pseudogenes. phylogenetic analysis suggested closest relationship between nepalensis.
In the present study, we examined morphological variations within
Based on observations living plants in field, together with examination of herbarium specimens (including type material), we demonstrate that Sanicula orthacantha var. (Apiaceae) differs from S. brevispina only by the rhizome short, oblique rootstock bearing elongated, fibrous roots, sometimes fleshy stoloniferous (vs. slender, elongate and lignified nodes stoloniferous). In addition, petagnioides is found to be identical orthacantha, stolonifera brevispina, therefore synonymized herein...
Heteromorpha arborescens has long been recognized and cultivated as an important medicinal plant. We reported its complete plastid genome for the first time reconstructed phylogenetic position. The was 157,172 bp in length with a typical quadripartite organization: large single-copy (LSC) region of 86,436 bp, small (SSC) 18,222 two inverted repeat regions (IRa IRb), each 26,257 bp. A total 130 functional genes were recovered, consisting 85 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA 8 rRNA genes. analysis...
