ABSTRACT The Schizosaccharomyces pombe glucose/cyclic AMP (cAMP) signaling pathway includes the Gpa2-Git5-Git11 heterotrimeric G protein, whose Gpa2 Gα subunit directly binds to and activates adenylate cyclase in response from Git3 protein-coupled receptor. To study intrinsic extrinsic regulation of Gpa2, we developed a plasmid-based screen identify mutationally activated gpa2 alleles that bypass loss Git5-Git11 Gβγ dimer repress transcription glucose-regulated fbp1 + gene. The recent Canterbury earthquake sequence and the more Seddon, Lake Grassmere Castlepoint earthquakes have raised awareness of vulnerability non-structural elements buildings (e.g. ceilings, cladding, building services equipment piping, etc.). With architectural components comprising up to 70% a building’s value, significant damage these resulted in some being declared economic losses, even when structure itself was not badly damaged. Impacts on business continuity due also been identified...
Under the revised UNOS heart allocation system, waitlist and post-transplant outcomes among patients bridged to transplant with VA-ECMO (BTT-ECMO) have improved. However, it remains largely unknown if these early trends persisted over time. We queried database for all adult heart-only BTT-ECMO recipients between January 2019 December 2022. Our analysis shows that under mortality 1-year remained favorable, despite increased utilization of BTT-ECMO. This finding supports original intent system...
Introduction Cardiogenic shock (CS) is a common medical emergency that causes significant morbidity and mortality. Our aim was to characterize patient demographics analyze the factors increase likelihood for CS readmissions. Methods This retrospective cohort study using 2019 Nationwide Readmissions Database (NRD) database identify admissions in adults with principal diagnosis of CS. Results The index admission 62.2% males, mean age 66.9 years. Of 146,254 CS, 19,238 (20.4%) were readmitted....
