Masked image modeling (MIM) with transformer backbones has recently been exploited as a powerful self-supervised pre-training technique. The existing MIM methods adopt the strategy to mask random patches of and reconstruct missing pixels, which only considers semantic information at lower level, causes long time. This paper presents HybridMIM, novel hybrid learning method based on masked for 3D medical segmentation. Specifically, we design two-level masking hierarchy specify how in...
We aimed to investigate changes in pulmonary function and computed tomography (CT) findings patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) during the recovery period. COVID-19 underwent symptom assessment, tests, high-resolution chest CT 6 months after discharge from hospital. Of 54 enrolled, 31 23 were moderate severe group, respectively. The main symptoms fatigue exertional dyspnea, experienced by 24.1% 18.5% of patients, respectively, followed smell taste dysfunction (9.3%) cough...
Hemoptysis is a significant clinical entity with high morbidity and potential mortality. Both medical management (in terms of resuscitation bronchoscopic interventions) surgery have severe limitations in these patients population. Bronchial artery embolization (BAE) represents the first-line treatment for hemoptysis. This article discusses analysis, approach, outcomes complications BAE hemoptysis.A retrospective analysis 344 cases, who underwent bronchial arteriography at Tianjin Haihe...
An increasing number of patients infected with nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) are observed worldwide. However, it is challenging to identify NTM lung diseases from pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) due considerable overlap in classic manifestations and clinical radiographic characteristics. This study quantifies both cavitary bronchiectasis regions CT images explores a machine learning approach for the differentiation PTB. It involves 116 103 quantitative features. After selection informative...
The increasing global incidence of nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) pulmonary disease highlights the need for rapid diagnostic methods to guide timely treatment and prevent antibiotic misuse. While bacterial culture remains gold standard diagnosis, its extended turnaround time compromises clinical decision-making. Computed tomography (CT), with high sensitivity lung lesions imaging capabilities, has emerged as a critical tool. AI-assisted CT interpretation shows particular promise...
Tracheal rupture is a rare but serious complication associated with tracheal intubation, often presenting clinical manifestations such as subcutaneous emphysema, mediastinal and pneumothorax. Pneumoperitoneum after intubation an unusual occurrence. Treatment strategies typically include surgical intervention conservative management. This article presents case of following that led to massive pneumoperitoneum was successfully managed treatment. A patient underwent during which occurred,...
Objective. To investigate the dissipation and outcomes of pulmonary lesions at first follow-up patients who recovered from moderate severe cases COVID-19. Methods. From January 21 to March 3, 2020, a total 136 with COVID-19 were admitted our hospital. According inclusion exclusion criteria, 52 included in this study, including 33 19 cases. Three senior radiologists independently retrospectively analyzed chest CT imaging data last time admission after discharge, primary manifestations,...
The aim of this research was to evaluate long-term pulmonary sequelae on paired inspiration-expiration thin-section computed tomography (CT) scans 3 years after influenza A (H1N1) virus-associated pneumonia, and analyze the affecting factors fibrosis.Twenty-four patients hospitalized with H1N1 pneumonia at our hospital between September 2009 January 2010 were included. underwent CT recovery. Abnormal lesion patterns (ground-glass opacity, consolidation, parenchymal bands, air trapping,...
Hyperphosphatemia is a common complication of late-stage chronic kidney disease (CKD). Nicotinamide (NAM) has been reported as an adjunctive therapy for hyperphosphatasemia, but the effect NAM on fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) and Klotho rarely reported. We randomly assigned 98 patients who underwent regular hemodialysis to received (0.5-1.5 g per day, or 1-3 tablets day) placebo (1-3 add-on calcium-based phosphorus binders in 1:1 ratio. All enrollments were followed-up 52 weeks. We...
COVID-19 is a new acute respiratory infectious disease caused by novel Coronavirus (2019-COV-2) infection. On November 26, 2021, the World Health Organization announced 2019-COV-2 variant strain Omicron (B.1.1.529). Omicron's emergence added further uncertainty to outbreak. Here we report first case infected with in China, 17-year-old female student. In this paper, clinical symptoms, laboratory and imaging examinations treatment of Omicron-infected patient China were analyzed. This might...
There is limited information describing the course and severity of illness in subjects infected by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 Omicron variant, especially children. In this population-based cohort study, with variant infection during outbreak between January 8 February 12, 2022 Tianjin, China were included (n = 429). The main outcomes distribution asymptomatic, mild, moderate, patients, clinical courses including interval from positive polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test...
COVID-19 is a kind of pneumonia with new coronavirus infection, and the risk death in patients diabetes four times higher than that healthy people. It unclear whether there difference chest CT images between type 2 mellitus (T2DM) non-diabetes (NDM) patients. The aim this study was to investigate differences T2DM NDM based on quantitative method artificial intelligence. A total 62 were retrospectively enrolled divided into group (T2DM group, n = 15) B (NDM 47). clinical laboratory...
The emergence of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 omicron variant has been triggering new wave disease 2019 (COVID-19) globally. However, risk factors and outcomes for radiological abnormalities in early convalescent stage (1 month after diagnosis) infected patients are still unknown.Patients were retrospectively enrolled if they admitted to hospital due COVID-19. chest computed tomography (CT) images clinical data obtained at baseline (at time first CT image that showed 1...
Nontuberculous mycobacterial lung disease (NTM-LD) and Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB-LD) are difficult to distinguish based on conventional imaging examinations. In recent years, radiomics has been used discriminate them. However, existing radiomic methods mainly focus specific lesion types, have limitations in handling the presence of multiple types that vary among different patients. We aimed establish a model patient's CT scans, analyzed importance distinguishing two diseases. 120...
Introduction Tuberculosis (TB) stands as a paramount global health concern, contributing significantly to worldwide mortality rates. Effective containment of TB requires deployment cost-efficient screening method with limited resources. To enhance the precision resource allocation in fight against TB, this research proposed chest X-ray radiography (CXR) based machine learning algorithms optimization, benchmarking and tuning for best subclassification tasks clinical application. Methods This...
