Bidens pilosa is a plant used by Amazonian and Asian folks for some hepatopathies. The hydroethanol crude extract three fractions were assessed antioxidant hepatoprotective effects. Higher levels of scavenger activity on the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical, inhibition deoxyribose oxidation lipid peroxidation in vitro detected ethyl acetate fraction (IC(50)~4.3-32.3 µg/ml) followed (IC(50)~14.2-98.0 µg/ml). fraction, again extract, showed high contents total soluble polyphenols (3.6±0.2...
Trypanosoma cruzi, the etiological agent of Chagas disease, relies on finely coordinated epigenetic regulation during transition between hosts. Herein we targeted silent information regulator 2 (Sir2) enzyme, a NAD+-dependent class III histone deacetylase, to interfere with parasites' cell cycle. A combination molecular modelling on-target experimental validation was used discover new inhibitors from commercially available compound libraries. We selected six virtual screening, which were...
Herein we report the design and synthesis of a series highly selective CCR2 antagonists as 18 F-labeled PET tracers. The derivatives were evaluated extensively for their off-target profile at 48 different targets. most potent candidate was applied in vivo biodistribution study, demonstrating promising further preclinical development. This compound represents first potential nonpeptidic tracer imaging receptors.
Malaria is still a life-threatening public health issue, and the upsurge of resistant strains requires continuous generation active molecules. In this work, 35 sulfonylhydrazone derivatives were synthesized evaluated against Plasmodium falciparum chloroquine-sensitive (3D7) (W2) strains. The most promising compound, 5b, had an IC50 0.22 μM W2 was less cytotoxic 26-fold more selective than chloroquine. structure-activity relationship model, statistical analysis molecular modeling studies...
