Abstract The term ‘co-production’ has been used in various fields, including planning, as collaborative forms of public goods and service delivery gain significance. Co-production two sides—the ‘co’ side refers to actors their motivations, while the ‘production’ phases instruments. This paper examines privately owned space/s (POPS) based on sides co-production. Thereby, it addresses research gaps. First, less written date involvement other than local authorities developers. Second, little...

Privately Owned Public Space/s (POPS) is a mechanism to increase provision of public space, particularly in densely built-up urban areas. The empirical work undertaken along the Teheran-ro Seoul reveals that even well-equipped and highly accessible POPS can be exclusive or underused. This paper argues problem exclusion underuse related lack knowledge awareness they are spaces. more known perceived as spaces, widely actively will used. Hence, adds further recommendations existing suggestions.

Co-production is a concept which increasingly popular in the planning field to refer multi-stakeholder collaboration and partnership with citizens. However, existing literature suggests that rapid growth of has resulted ambiguity about its meaning. Given potential research practice, thematic issue aims present studies use comparative approaches as way sharpen understanding co-production. The includes one commentary six articles empirical evidence from various countries across world....

Over the last 50 years, Ruhr region experienced a remarkable transformation from an industrial to post-industrial region. With regard rehabilitation of environmental damages more than 100 years coal mining and steel production, investment in green infrastructure, creation regional landscape parks constituted one main pillars economic physical However, little is known about social effects this transformation. Many observers state that area sharply divided by east–west line (the A40 Highway)...

Privately owned public space (POPS) are a new type of that was first introduced in New York City the 1960s. POPS have been thoroughly studied Anglo-American world; however, little examination has conducted welfare states. This paper examines to what extent this is relevant and needed for German cities where private sector involvement limited. Survey findings, document analysis, in-depth interviews indicate stakeholders important partners provision spaces, co-produced spaces like already part...

A hybrid composite of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and porous silicon microparticles (pSiMPs) was developed applied for the computed tomography (CT) scanning lungs as an image-guided localization agent. We confirmed grafting AgNPs on oxidized pSiMPs template using various analytical equipment, including a electron microscope (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The showed high CT contrast intensity (>1000 HU)...

As new forms of public space emerge and the distinction between private is increasingly blurred, notion hybrid has come to light. It encompasses different kinds public, semi-public, semi-private spaces. The proliferation across cities raises an important question as whether they are spaces if so, how they? This paper aims examine publicness privately owned space/s (POPS). POPS a popular mechanism provide spaces, however little known about their quality. Empirical research using three case...

Public space is an essential element of cities as it offers several benefits. Due to its significance, there much discussion design, development and use. Although equally important, the management public lacks attention in academia policy. This regrettable given concerns about quality calls for substantial changes management. Moreover, while multi-actor involvement has become popular, impact been less studied. paper attempts fill research gap by presenting empirical study on Görlitzer Park...
