In this research, we report a facile method for synthesizing series of carboxyl functionalized graphene quantum dots (GQDs) using graphite flakes (300 meshes) as raw material. These highly luminescent GQDs emitted blue, light green, yellow, and red (400-700 nm intensity peaks) under ultraviolet irradiation conditions, while exhibiting yields in the range 50-70%. The products were comprehensively characterized ultraviolet-visible, photoluminescence, infrared, Raman, dynamic scattering...

DNA double-stranded breaks (DSBs) are among the most severe forms of damage and responsible for chromosomal translocations that may lead to gene fusions. The RAD51 family plays an integral role in preserving genome stability by homology directed repair DSBs. From a proteomics screen, we recently identified SFPQ/PSF as interacting partner with paralogs, RAD51D, RAD51C XRCC2. Initially discovered potential RNA splicing factor, SFPQ was later shown have homologous recombination non-homologous...

Abstract Background With over 1.3 billion people, India is estimated to contain three times more genetic diversity than does Europe. Next-generation sequencing technologies have facilitated the understanding of by enabling whole genome at greater speed and lower cost. While genomes from people European Asian descent been sequenced, only recently has a single male Indian subcontinent published sufficient depth coverage. In this study we sequenced analyzed South female (SAIF) state Kerala....

Homologous recombination (HR) is a mechanism for repairing DNA interstrand crosslinks and double-strand breaks. In mammals, HR requires the activities of RAD51 family (RAD51, RAD51B, RAD51C, RAD51D, XRCC2, XRCC3 DMC1), each which contains conserved ATP binding sequences (Walker Motifs A B). RAD51D DNA-stimulated ATPase that interacts directly with RAD51C XRCC2. To test hypothesis hydrolysis by are required repair crosslinks, site-directed mutations in Walker Motif were generated,...

The RAD51 family of proteins is involved in homologous recombination (HR) DNA repair and maintaining chromosome integrity. To identify candidates that interact with HR proteins, the mouse RAD51C, RAD51D XRCC2 were purified using bacterial expression systems each them used to co-precipitate interacting partners from embryonic fibroblast cellular extracts. Mass spectroscopic analysis was performed on protein bands obtained after 1-D SDS-PAGE co-precipitation eluates cell extracts mitomycin C...

In this study, mitochondrial D-loop sequence data on riverine, swamp and hybrid buffaloes from India have been generated compared with other reported Indian Chinese Bangladeshi buffalo populations. Sequence analysis revealed the presence of 132 haplotypes, a haplotype diversity 0.9611 ± 0.0045 nucleotide 0.04801 0.00126. For first time, existence riverine-swamp hybrids among Chilika population has recorded, having 49 chromosomes, which was also confirmed by sharing between as well...

Abstract In this research, the photocatalytic and seed germination potentials of bio-functionalized, as-synthesized zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles (NPs) were investigated. ZnO NPs created by reducing acetate hexahydrate with a citrus limetta ( C. ) peel extract. The hexagonal wurtzite crystal was observed in /ZnO NPs, crystallite diameters ranging from 50 to 60 nm an energy-band gap 3.08 eV. Fourier-transform infrared spectrum confirmed presence phytochemicals on surface resultant ZnO....

Abstract Background The homologous recombination (HR) pathway is vital for maintaining genomic integrity through the restoration of double-stranded breaks and interstrand crosslinks. RAD51 paralogs (RAD51B, RAD51C, RAD51D, XRCC2, XRCC3) are essential this process in vertebrates, RAD51D paralog unique that it participates both HR repair telomere maintenance. also known to directly interact with RAD51C XRCC2 proteins.
