Three biochars converted from water hyacinth biomass at 300, 450, and 600 °C were used to investigate the adsorption properties of Cd2+ Pb2+.
A biochar supported calcined-Mg/Al layered double hydroxides composite (CLDHs/BC) was synthesized by a one-pot slow pyrolysis of LDHs preloaded bagasse biomass. Multiple characterizations the product illustrated that (CLDHs) were successfully coated onto in pre-treated The as-synthesized CLDHs/BC could efficiently remove antibiotic tetracycline from aqueous solutions. coating CLDHs significantly increased adsorption ability biochar, and exhibited more than 2 times higher capacity pristine...
In this study, diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA)-modified magnetic graphene oxide (MGO) was synthesized for removal of Cu(II), Pb(II), and Cd(II) ions from acidic aqueous solutions. The prepared DTPA/MGO composites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared photoelectron spectroscopies, zeta potential. results showed that DTPA successfully functionalized MGO. Adsorption experiments indicated exhibited excellent adsorption...
Abstract BACKGROUND This article reports the synthesis and characterisation of titanium dioxide‐coated biochar composites (TBCs) by pyrolysing dioxide‐treated biomass prepared a modified sol–gel method. Their adsorptive photocatalytic activities were evaluated based on removal safranine T (ST) from an aqueous solution with/without UV‐light irradiation. RESULTS Characterisation studies suggested that TiO 2 was successfully loaded substrate. The contents composite significantly affected its...
MicroRNAs play key roles in abiotic stress response. Rice (Oryza sativa L.) miR1320 is a species-specific miRNA that contributes to miR168-regulated immunity. However, it still unknown whether involved rice response stress. In this study, we illustrated the precursor generated two mature miR1320s, miR1320-3p, and miR1320-5p, they both displayed decreased expression under cold Genetic evidence showed overexpression resulted increased tolerance, while knock down (KD) reduced tolerance....
Intra-articular injection of mesenchymal stem cells is a potential therapeutic strategy for cartilage protection and symptom relief osteoarthritis (OA). However, controlling chondrogenesis the implanted in articular cavity remains challenge. In this study, hydrogels containing different concentrations icariin were prepared by situ crosslinking hyaluronic acid Poloxamer 407. This injectable thermoresponsive hydrogel, as 3D cell culture system, showed good biocompatibility with chondrocytes...
Abstract Biochar has frequently been used for the treatment of heavy metal pollution in water and soil; its effect on contaminated sediments requires further research. To improve ability biochar to immobilize metals sediment, we prepared a functionalized biochar/attapulgite composite by pyrolysis clay attapulgite zinc chloride–pretreated rice straw biomass. Compared with original biochar, had large increase specific surface area, pore volume, oxygen‐containing functional groups, cation...
The distribution of wetland ecosystem restoration sites is uneven and resources are limited, so priority identification essential for rational resource allocation reduction biodiversity loss. Under the influence human activities climate variability, water level during middle dry season (MDS) had a significant tendency to increase in Poyang Lake (PYL) Dongting (DTL), which directly affected habitat suitability (HS) migratory birds threatened their existence. Based on data HS weight birds,...
Biochar obtained by pyrolysis of the fiber plant kenaf was mixed with bismuth ferrite (BiFeO3) in a chitosan-containing acetic acid solution, magnetized, and modified to prepare chitosan-crosslinked BiFeO3/biochar coupled magnetic material. The adsorption properties composite were investigated using methylene blue dissolved water, effects external conditions, such as pH, concentration, reaction time, temperature, on performance studied. data fitted analyzed kinetic isotherm models, results...
Low temperature causes rice yield losses of up to 30%–40%, therefore increasing its cold tolerance is a breeding target. Few genes in are reported confer at both the vegetative and reproductive stages. This study revealed rice-specific 24-nt miRNA, miR1868, whose accumulation was suppressed by stress. Knockdown MIR1868 increased seedling survival, pollen fertility, seed setting, grain under stress, whereas overexpression conferred opposite phenotype. reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging...
Green city areas are crucial in mitigating the Urban Heat Island Effect (UHI). However, cooling effect of green can be influenced by surrounding complex urban spatial environment. This study focuses on Changsha, a subtropical China, where 40 were screened and analyzed. The aims to quantify specific impact morphology areas. Through statistical correlation regression analysis, this focused six indicators: building density (BD), floor area ratio (BFR), volume (BVD), evenness index (BEI),...
Photocatalysts comprising Broussonetia papyrifera biochar and g-C3N4 loaded on sodium alginate were prepared characterized in terms of reusability photocatalytic Cr(vi) reduction performance. The observed photocurrent responses as well photoluminescence UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectra showed that the best-performing catalyst featured benefits efficient photogenerated charge separation, superior electron conductance/transfer, excellent light adsorption ability, which resulted a higher...
