Herein, an organocatalytic method for photochemical C–O bond cleavage of lignin systems is reported. The use photochemistry enabled fragmentation the β-O-4 linkage, primary linkage in lignin, provides products good to high yields. approach was merged with reported oxidation conditions a one-pot, two-step platform without any intermediary purification, suggesting its fidelity. future utility illustrated by applying visible light-mediated protocol continuous flow processing.

<div>Abstract<p>Approximately 70% of oropharyngeal squamous carcinomas (OPSCC) are associated with human papillomavirus (HPV). Although patients HPV-positive (HPV+) tumors generally have better outcomes than those HPV-negative tumors, a subset HPV+ positive do poor outcomes. Our previous work suggested that integrated virus exhibit significantly greater genome-wide genomic instability only episomal viral genomes, and OPSCC genomes had...

Background: Auricular arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare vascular anomalies, being the second most prevalent after cheek AVMs. Their management presents challenges. Objective: We aim to explore clinical presentation of ear AVMs, highlighting a unique pattern focal auricular AVM. Methods: A retrospective review was conducted over 7 years, focusing on patients diagnosed with Exclusions included non-AVM diagnosis, adjacent anatomical site extensions, and lack patient information or...

Importance Postoperative radiation therapy for close surgical margins in low- to intermediate-grade salivary carcinomas lacks multi-institutional supportive evidence. Objective To evaluate the oncologic outcomes and with positive margins. Design, Setting, Participants The American Head Neck Society Salivary Gland Section conducted a retrospective cohort study from 2010 2019 at 41 centers. Margins were classified as R0 (negative), R1 (microscopically positive), or R2 (macroscopically...

Soft-tissue loss is expected after resection of large vascular lesions. Autologous fat transfer improves asymmetries; however, systematic outcomes are not previously described for anomaly reconstruction.Retrospective chart review from 2012 to 2015 included patients receiving autologous transfers soft-tissue defects during or following surgery at a tertiary care center. Patients received dermal en bloc grafts, lipoaspirates, both. Pre- and postoperative photographs were blindly reviewed by 3...

Management of clinically negative necks (cN0) in oral cavity (OCSCC) and oropharyngeal (OPSCC) squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) has evolved over time. Historically, the neck been managed with elective dissection (END) or observation, but more recently sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) emerged as a technique to detect occult metastases. In this review, we will discuss role SLNB early-stage OCSCC management OPSCC.
