There is little evidence related to the effects of Omicron severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) variant on pregnancy outcomes, particularly in unvaccinated women. This study aimed compare outcomes women infected with SARS-CoV-2 during pre-Delta, Delta and waves.
Placental syndrome, mainly composed of preeclampsia and fetal growth restriction, has an impact on the health mother baby dyads. While impaired placentation is central to their pathophysiology, underlying molecular mechanisms remain incompletely understood. This study investigates association between placental syndrome metabolic alterations in 1-deoxysphingolipids (1-deoxySLs) polyamines, along with regulatory enzymes. prospective case-control involved 26 healthy pregnant women 17 syndrome....
Background: Heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) significantly impacts women’s quality of life (QoL). However, despite the high prevalence HMB, culturally adapted screening tools remain scarce in Turkey. This study aimed to adapt and validate SAMANTA questionnaire for non-pregnant Turkish women reproductive age. Methods: two-stage methodological was conducted between January June 2023. The adaptation process involved translating aligning it healthcare practices. Psychometric testing on 148 aged...
<title>Abstract</title> Background Pre-eclampsia continues to be a significant global health burden with complex pathophysiology, necessitating investigation of novel biomarkers improve understanding, diagnosis and management this pregnancy-specific disorder. To investigate the differential expression Calcium Release-Activated Channel Protein 1 (ORAI1), Fibroblast Growth Factor 23 (FGF23), Placental 13 (PP13), Palladin, Supervillin in both maternal umbilical cord blood as potential for...
Oxidative stress plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of Down syndrome (Trisomy 21), as chromosome 21 harbors multiple genes involved redox homeostasis and antioxidant defense mechanisms. This study aimed to evaluate roles transcription factors nuclear factor erythroid 2-related 2 (NRF2) factor-kappa B (NFKB), along with enzymes cystathionine-γ-lyase (CSE) NAD(P)H dehydrogenase [quinone] 1 (NQO1) amniotic fluid (AF) maternal serum (MS) potential biomarkers for prenatal screening (DS)....
ABSTRACT Objective The aim of this study was to compare ultrasonographic measurements selected fetal organs in diabetic pregnancies with non‐diabetic and evaluate their potential as markers metabolic changes. Methods This prospective comparative observational included 143 singleton (73 DM 70 normal glucose tolerance) between 20 39 weeks gestation. Ultrasonographic liver length, pancreas size, adrenal gland thymus placental thickness were obtained. Measurements standardized Z ‐scores...
Abstract In our perinatology service, we observed two cases of cardiac papillary fibroelastoma in fetuses. This case‐report focused on assessing the prenatal diagnosis and outcome these fetal which was initially identified via echocardiography subsequently confirmed by histopathological analysis.
Abstract We report the case of a fetus with sonographic diagnosis hyperechogenic cerebellum at 28 weeks' gestation, which was suspected to be hemorrhagic origin on fetal ultrasound. As an adjunct ultrasound, MRI can confirm cerebellar lesions, particularly by showing high signal T1‐weighted images. No etiological factors for hemorrhage were found other than maternal hypertension and aspirin use. Postnatal confirmed prenatal without underlying vascular anomaly.
Introduction:To assess changes in blood flow the uterine, fetal cerebral, and umbilical arteries (UA) by Doppler ultrasound alterations variability of heart rate (FHR) as well cardiac performance echocardiography between 7.00 a.m. p.m. periods pregnancies ranging from 24 to 39 weeks. Methods: Fifty pregnant participants underwent a customized examination on same day during both study periods, including measurements artery pulsatility index (UA-PI), middle cerebral artery-pulsatility (MCA-PI),...
Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the efficiency and indications cold knife conization in treatment high-grade cervical lesions. Materials Methods: This included patients with lesions treated (CKC) within 9 years. Histopathological correlation analyses were carried out among smear, colposcopic biopsy (CBx), CKC results, total hysterectomy specimens available. Results: One hundred thirty-one cone cases analyzed for study. most common pathology intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN)...

The aim of this study was to evaluate fetal lung maturation in term pregnant women with obesity and excessive gestational weight gain using the lamellar body count (LBC) test amniotic fluid samples obtained during cesarean section. This retrospective included experiencing pregnancies undergoing delivery, categorized as normal (n=37), overweight (n=59), or obese (n=48) due mass index values 18.5 24.9; 25 29.9; ≥30, respectively, well presence pregnancy. During were without contamination blood...
