Herein, we report a convenient and broadly applicable strategy for the difluoromethylation of aryl bromides by metallaphotoredox catalysis. Bromodifluoromethane, simple commercially available alkyl halide, is harnessed as an effective source difluoromethyl radical silyl-radical-mediated halogen abstraction. The merger this fluoroalkyl electrophile activation pathway with dual nickel/photoredox catalytic platform enables diverse array heteroaryl under mild conditions. utility procedure...

We synthesised a library of cis- and trans-cyclic dipeptides evaluated their efficacy as catalysts in the asymmetric Weitz-Scheffer epoxidation trans-chalcone. A thorough investigation relying on structure-activity studies computational provided insights into mechanism process. Our results revealed some structural features required for efficient conversion introduction chirality product. The cyclic dipeptide acts catalyst by templating supramolecular arrangement at aqueous-organic interface...
It has previously been shown that an amphipathic de novo designed peptide made of 10 leucines and four phenylalanines substituted with crown ethers induces vesicle leakage without selectivity. To gain selectivity against negatively charged dimyristoylphosphatidylglycerol (DMPG) bilayers, one or two the were positively residues at each position. All peptides induce significant calcein DMPG vesicles. However, some do not zwitterionic dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine vesicles are thus active only...
Chitosan is a biopolymer that can be subjected to variety of chemical modifications generate new materials. The properties modified chitosan are affected by its degree deacetylation (
We prepared four 2-(aminomethyl)arylboronic acids and studied their reactivity in the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction with different aryl halides. observed significant increases yields shorter times when amine adjacent to boronic acid was protected by a tert-butyloxycarbonyl (t-Boc) group. then investigated origin of greater N-t-Boc-protected substrates regard potential role an N-B bond.
We report here a new strategy to produce 2,3,3-triarylacrylic acid esters, class of 1,2,2-triarylethene compounds with an α,β-unsaturated ester functionality. Our approach requires the preparation gem-dibromoalkene precursor from α-keto ester, followed by installation two aryl groups Suzuki–Miyaura coupling reactions on C–Br bonds. Many esters one, two, or three different were obtained complete regio- and stereocontrol in most cases.
Chitosan is a linear biopolymer composed of D-glucosamine and N-acetylglucosamine units. The percentage in the polymeric chain can vary from one sample to another expressed as degree deacetylation (DDA). Since this parameter has an impact on many properties, its determination often critical, potentiometric titration common analytical technique measure DDA. Cross-linking with glutaraldehyde most explored modifications chitosan; however, DDA for resulting reticulated chitosan resins be...
Herein, we report the first solid-phase total synthesis of natural cyclic peptide anabaenopeptin F and use metallaphotoredox catalysis to overcome key challenges associated with preparation non-proteinogenic amino acid homotyrosine contained in these peptides. Starting from L-homoserine, enantiopure Fmoc-protected was prepared a straightforward manner by N-Fmoc-(S)-2-amino-4-bromobutanoic 4-tert-butoxybromobenzene partners. The protected used achieve establish stereochemistry isoleucine...

Abstract We report here the chemo- and regioselective demethylation of 2-bromo-3,5-dimethoxy-α-resorcylic acid esters by a thiolate nucleophilic displacement reaction. Optimized conditions facilitate yields up to 93% for o-bromo-selective diverse ester derivatives dimethoxy 2-bromo-α-resorcylic acid. Our results highlight new, efficient, reliable reagent, as well useful steric bias directing strategy.
Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease mainly characterized by the hyperproliferation and abnormal differentiation of epidermal keratinocytes. An interesting phenolic compound, namely quebecol (2,3,3-tri-(3-methoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl)-1-propanol) (compound 1, CPD1), was isolated from maple syrup in 2011 recently synthesized. Quebecol its derivatives ethyl 2,3,3-tris(3-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)propenoate 2, CPD2) bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)methane 3, CPD3) have shown...

Quebecol is a polyphenolic compound initially isolated from Canadian maple syrup in 2011. Recently, our group demonstrated macrophage model that quebecol inhibits the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines and reduces activation NF-κB transcription factor. In this study, we further explored therapeutic potential against periodontal disease, an inflammatory disorder bacterial origin affecting tooth-supporting tissues. More specifically, effects natural on matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)...
