A gene that encodes fucoidanase ffa2 in the marine bacterium Formosa algae strain KMM 3553T was cloned, and protein (FFA2) produced Escherichia coli. Recombinant FFA2 purified, biochemical properties of this enzyme were studied. The amino acid sequence showed 57% identity with known FcnA from Mariniflexile fucanivorans. mass product is 101.2 kDa (918 residues). Sequence analysis has revealed belongs to GH107 (CAZy) family. Detailed substrate specificity studied by using fucoidans brown...

Objective. To study the effect of fucoidan from brown algae S. feldmannii (SfF2) on metabolism MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. Materials and methods. The bioenergetic potential cells was assessed under influence various factors (insulin, epidermal growth factor, phorbol ester, X-rays) stimulating tumor progression. metabolically oriented SfF2 (200 µg/ml) colony formation process human determined using soft agar method normal conditions carcinogenic factors. Results. Fucoidan found to reduce...

Sulfated polysaccharides of brown algae, fucoidans, are known for their anticoagulant properties, similar to animal heparin. Their complex and irregular structure is the main bottleneck in standardization defining relationship between bioactivity. Fucoidan-active enzymes can be effective tools overcome these problems. In present work, we identified gene fwf5 encoding fucoidan-active endo-fucanase GH168 family marine bacterium Wenyingzhuangia fucanilytica CZ1127T. The biochemical...

Cancer is one of the main causes human mortality worldwide. Despite advances in diagnostics, surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, search for more effective treatment regimens drug combinations are relevant. This work aimed to assess radiomodifying effect molecular mechanism action fucoidan from brown alga Saccharina cichorioides (ScF) product its autohydrolysis (ScF_AH) combination with pacificusoside D starfish Solaster pacificus (SpD) on model viability invasion three-dimension (3D)...
