Bartonella quintana is a rare but important cause of culture-negative endocarditis, classically associated with body lice infestation. We report the first known pediatric case endocarditis head lice. The importance sending targeted testing for this organism in at-risk patients, ideally on tissue specimens, emphasized.

SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence reflects the efficacy of pandemic infection prevention and control measures. We performed anti-spike IgG serological testing on residual sera children 1-11 years old at a tertiary care referral center between October November 2021. Immunocompromised patients had highest seroprevalence, 40.5%, compared to 19.3% in non-immunocompromised patients. Targeted public health interventions are warranted for pediatric immunocompromised future pandemics.
