Our experiments have focused on the analysis of residual haematopoietic damage in 8-day-old and 12-week-old mice X-irradiated with a single dose 7 Gy. In case adult mice, femoral splenic CFU-S, CFU-GM BFU-E showed persistent depletion these progenitor cells after irradiation. contrast, 1-week-old irradiated progressive recovery progenitors was observed, achieving essentially normal values 1 year The spleens however, contained significantly less than control group, mainly as consequence size...
This in vitro study has been conducted to determine the optimal experimental conditions under which produce canine neutrophils long-term bone marrow cultures (LTBMC), establish functional parameters of obtained from LTBMC and peripheral blood ascertain whether these cells display physiological similarities. Our aim is provide an model, enabling a correlation between hemopoietic injury neutrophil functionality. The authors demonstrate for first time that grown are able oxyradicals capable...
Pyruvate kinase studies in the granulocyte-macrophage lineage during vitro differentiation have been performed using culture techniques on GM-CFC cells and a study has also done bone marrow cells. The enzyme exhibits biphasic behaviour with respect to both of its substrates derived from cultures at 5 7 days incubation period. However these kinetics are only observed for ADP. different kinetic pyruvate toward Fru-1,6-P2, Ala, Phe ATP three cellular populations allows us conclude that...
This paper analyzes the long-term (6 and 12 months) function of mouse granulocytes after total body irradiation with a single dose (5 Gy) X-rays. Superoxide anion production has been investigated in from peripheral blood, also those harvested long term bone marrow cultures, aim correlating environmental damage induced by radiation functional properties granulocytes. An vivo vitro enhancement superoxide protein levels irradiated mice is described. The presence some colony stimulating factor...
Our experiments focused on the metabolic implications of residual haemopoietic damage in adult mice given 5 Gy X‐rays. Bone marrow cells from irradiated exhibited an increase protein synthesis and a decrease ATP levels, which could be related to enhancement proliferative activity precursor cells. However, kinetic parameters ( V max K m ) glucose uptake, glycolytic flux hexose monophospate (HMP) shunt were similar those found control group. On other hand, reduction uptake was both resting...
The effect of total body irradiation (5 Gy) on functional mouse erythroid lineage has been studied. transferrin binding capacity by bone marrow cells and the activity glycolytic regulatory enzymes intracellular levels 2,3 bisphosphoglycerate in peripheral blood erythrocytes have determined. Results obtained along one year post-irradiation period suggest a complete recovery cell with respect to biological endpoints investigated.
