Radiofrequency ablation is a minimally invasive treatment for thyroid nodules; however, concerns exist regarding its impact on subsequent surgery. We compared surgical outcomes and complications between patients undergoing thyroidectomy after radiofrequency (post-radiofrequency group) those without prior (non-radiofrequency group).
Lymph node metastases in papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) increases recurrence risk and negatively impact survival. Traditional treatments like re-operation radioactive iodine (RAI) have downsides. Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is an emerging non-surgical therapeutic option, but there seldom data on its efficacy safety specifically for metastatic lymph nodes. We aimed to evaluate clinical outcomes of RFA applied cervical nodes patients with PTC metastasis North American population.
The risk of complication in patients undergoing completion thyroidectomy (cT) is mixed. Several studies report increased comparison to total (TT) and still others reporting a comparatively decreased risk. We compared the rates at our institution thyroid lobectomy (TL), (TT), cT by single high-volume surgeon.
Robotic thyroidectomy is gaining popularity, yet its role in completion remains unclear. We aimed to compare robotic vs conventional for thyroid nodules.
ObjectiveAmyloid deposition within tumor stroma is a distinctive histologic feature of medullary thyroid cancer (MTC). However, its prognostic significance remains uncertain. We aimed to elucidate the impact amyloid status on survival outcomes in large cohort.MethodsThe Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results registry was queried identify patients diagnosed with MTC from 2000-2019. Patients positive (ICD-O-3 code 8345/3) negative 8510/3) tumors were analyzed. Overall disease-specific...
mutations are prevalent in indeterminate thyroid nodules, but their association with malignancy risk and utility for diagnosis remains unclear. We performed a systematic review meta-analysis to establish the clinical value of
Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a minimally-invasive ablative technique with an impressive safety profile used to manage thyroid nodules. Current reports RFA describe the treatment of single nodule in single-setting. We first series bilateral single-setting.RFA was performed on patients nodules A cohort randomly selected undergoing for separate setting reported as control cohort.A total 12 were included our series, 6 single-setting cohort. For treated by setting, mean volume reduction rate...
