Batch effects are the systematic non-biological differences between batches (groups) of samples in microarray experiments due to various causes such as sample preparation and hybridization protocols. Previous work focused mainly on development methods for effective batch removal. However, their impact cross-batch prediction performance, which is one most important goals microarray-based applications, has not been addressed. This paper uses a broad selection data sets from Microarray Quality...

Seahorses, pipefishes, and seadragons are fishes from the family Syngnathidae that have evolved extraordinary traits including male pregnancy, elongated snouts, loss of teeth, dermal bony armor. The developmental genetic cellular changes led to evolution these largely unknown. Recent syngnathid genome assemblies revealed suggestive gene content differences provided opportunity for detailed analyses. We created a single-cell RNA sequencing atlas Gulf pipefish embryos understand basis four...

Methods To accomplish this, we performed whole genome transcriptional profiling on sorted epitope-specific CD8 T cells, in the presence and absence of cognate peptide, from a total 8 B*2705 elite controllers progressors. Epitope-specific CTLs were isolated using HLA class I tetramers used to prepare mRNA for evaluation by gene expression profiles Illumina bead arrays. Bulk cells as an internal control each patient.
