Abstract Background Mixed medullary and follicular cell-derived thyroid carcinoma (MMFCC) is characterized by the coexistence of C cell–derived tumour cell populations within same lesion. Due to its rarity, etiology clinical course remain unclear, treatment for advanced or recurrent cases has not been established. Case presentation We report a case MMFCC treated with selpercatinib. The patient was 69-year-old male presenting tumors in right lobe upper mediastinum. Fine-needle aspiration...
Primary ovarian angiosarcoma is an extremely rare malignant soft tissue tumor that arises from the vascular endothelium, with a limited number of reports. It has no specific symptoms, and it rarely diagnosed in early stages because rapid progression. Furthermore, standard drug therapy available, prognosis poor. The patient was 68-year-old woman suspected having ruptured on plain abdominal computed tomography anemia observed. An emergency laparotomy performed to stop bleeding. Thereafter, one...
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">With growing global concern about climate change, the challenge is to achieve carbon neutrality (CN) in motorcycles (MCs) as well, and various approaches are needed CN. For powertrains using internal combustion engines (ICEs), CN can be achieved by adopting fuels such e-fuel biofuel, but considering cost supply, it important develop CO2 reduction technologies for ICEs. Compared with 4-wheel vehicles, MCs required...
Aim The aim of this study is to clarify the role eye movements in reduction physiological and psychological metrics stress during Japanese garden viewing. Methods We chose well-structured Murin-an as a test site with similar visual elements but less well-maintained control site. measured pulse rates monitor responses. Psychological responses were tracked POMS2 Brief form short questionnaire. Results found that was more effective decreasing rate improving mood. Also, participants’ gaze ranged...
There are many systems that need sophisticated skills for operation. Operators must practice very well before actually operating systems, such as cranes, helicopters, and so on. We focus on two hand (bimanual) operation of human in this research. In the bimanual operation, motion one a low-skilled operator tends to suffer interfering other hand. have already identified dynamic characteristics based experimental results. However, learning process during was not clarified previous Therefore,...
Using the room-temperature-bonding technique, we have succeeded in fabricating a quasi-phase-matching (QPM) stack of 53 GaAs plates with each thickness 106 μm and aperture 5.5 × 5.0 mm for second-harmonic generation CO2 laser at 10.6 μm. An improved process was applied which realized fine alignment on translation stage. The fabricated 5.6 long, plate-stacked GaAs-QPM device generated 20 times higher secondharmonic power than previously 0.95 long QPM nine plates.
For better understanding the function of recurrent neural networks (RNN), we propose that an external input is considered as one period oscillatory input. It follows from this time sequential corresponds to attractor in a vector field. We show experimentally RNN can learn: (1) input-output patterns trajectories attractors, and (2) transition between attractors.
This study is meant to contribute, from a psychological viewpoint, the development of ``symbiotic'' system, an intelligent system capable ``living with'' human beings. We approach this by examining how people interact gesturally with each other, special focus on breathing movements. Within general framework, present paper reports two experiments conducted examine dynamics underlying intra- and inter-personal coordination speech articulation, hand gesture movements, The results reveal...
Abstract Visual stimuli have been repeatedly shown to elicit significant non-visual responses. In a continuing effort explore the unique effects of viewing Japanese garden on physiological and psychological metrics stress, we gained access world famous Murin-an in Kyoto, Japan. This well-maintained observation was designed be viewed while seated at single vantage point maximize impact visual scene. As control, used public campus Kyoto University that similar style. Sixteen college age...
Giant cell tumor of bone (GCTB) consists a mixture neoplastic mononuclear cells and non-neoplastic cells, including polynuclear giant cells. Recently, with the spread immunohistochemical staining marker H3.3 G34W corresponding to specific genetic abnormalities, histological diversity GCTB has been recognized. without is uncommon, although it also reported previously. Herein, we describe 45-year-old man who was successfully diagnosed using immunohistochemistry. Other unusual findings in that...
SUMMARY We examined the underlying mechanisms of apparent motion illusion beta movement by obtaining neuromagnetic responses event‐related fields (ERFs). A simple setting for visual stimulation two circles, presented 10° apart horizontally, was used in experiment 1. The first circle, with a duration 16.7 ms, followed second three conditions stimulus‐onset‐asynchrony: (a) circles seen almost simultaneously, (b) 83.3 perceived optimally as movement, and (c) 549.8 ms occurring isolatedly. In 2,...
A class of neuron-like components based on the switched-capacitor technique is proposed. Furthermore, concepts neural network, an algorithm and network topology are proposed, with aim achieving real-time monosyllabic speech recognition. This study examined the stability and variability of interpersonal coordination, in which one person breathed while other moved a wrist back forth with an inverted pendulum hand. Nine pairs subjects coordinated each other's movement two relative phase modes. In mode, Radial flexion-Inspiration Ulnar flexion-Expiration (RIUE), subject radially flexed as inhaled ulnarly it exhaled. other, (UIRE) was at inhalation, exhalation. Results were follows: (1) The more highly RIUE mode than UIRE...

Our bimanual operation experiments have shown that the movement of one hand affects other at higher frequencies – a coupling weakens for skilled operator. To determine operational properties, we designed system with two XY-stages studying Human Adaptive Mechatronics (HAM). Each XY-stage has DC motors, six-dimension force sensor, and encoders. An operator moves through grip on sensor. We first studied dynamic human based which determined specifications. The PID controller Virtual Internal...
