Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were rapidly synthesized using an exopolysaccharide from Arthrobacter sp. B4 (B4-EPS). The optimum condition for AgNPs synthesis was under the concentration of 5 g/L B4-EPS and 1 mM AgNO 3 at 80°C between pH 7.0 8.0. resulting displayed a face-centred-cubic structure with size range 9 nm to 72 nm. Further analysis showed that flocculation reduction played pivotal role in formation AgNPs. Furthermore, these exhibited great stability, excellent antimicrobial...

The novel exopolysaccharide HZ-7 is produced by Klebsiella sp. H-207, and its fermentation conditions were optimized response surface methodology (RSM). In this study, the medium consisted of sucrose 31.93 g/L, KNO(3) 2.17 g/L K(2)HPO(4) 5.47 g/L; while culture seed age 13 h, with an inoculum size 10.6% incubation temperature 28.9°C. A maximum yield about 15.05 was achieved under using RSM single-factor experiments. Next partially purified characterized. resulting product showed good...

This work designs a convenient method for fabrication of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) devices by loading gold nanostars (AuNSs) on flat filter support with vacuum filtration. The dense accumulation AuNSs results in strong sensitization to SERS signal and shows sensitive response gaseous metabolites bacteria, which produces "nose" rapid point-of-care monitoring these metabolites. good reproducibility stability can be used quantitation target signal. impressive performance the...

Pseudomonas putida (P. putida) MnB1 is a widely used model strain in environment science and technology for determining microbial manganese oxidation. Numerous studies have demonstrated that the growth metabolism of P. are influenced by various environmental factors. In this study, we investigated effects hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) (Mn2+) on proliferation, Mn2+ acquisition, anti-oxidative system, biofilm formation MnB1. The related orthologs 4 genes, mco, mntABC, sod, bifA, were amplified from...

Pectate lyase (EC 4.2.2.2) catalyzes the cleavage of α-1,4-glycosidic bonds pectin polymers, and it has potential uses in textile industry. In this study, a novel pectate belonging to polysaccharide family 10 was screened from secreted enzyme extract Paenibacillus polymyxa KF-1 identified by liquid chromatography-MS/MS. The gene cloned P. genomic DNA expressed Escherichia coli. recombinant PpPel10a had predicted Mr 45.2 kDa pI 9.41. Using polygalacturonic acid (PGA) as substrate, optimal...

A novel exopolysaccharide (EPS), namely, B4-EPS, is produced by Arthrobacter sp. B4. Response surface methodology (RSM) was employed to optimize the fermentation medium for increasing B4-EPS production. Based on Plackett-Burman design (PBD), glucose, yeast extract, and KH2PO4 were selected as significant variables, which further optimized a central composite (CCD). According response canonical analysis, optimal composed of 16.94 g/L 2.33 5.32 KH2PO4. Under this condition, maximum yield...

The present study demonstrated that the extracellular biosynthesis of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) using B. niabensis 45 may be mediated by a cyclic peptide (P2). molecular weight P2 was determined to about 1122 Da MALDI-TOF-MS and ESI-MS. A novel protocol for rapid GNPs developed. results showed GNP synthesis could completed in wide range temperatures (40–100°C) pH (6.0–10.0) within few minutes when 9 mL (2 mg/mL) 1 HAuCl 4 solution mM) were mixed together. synthesized further characterized....

A novel gene encoding transglycosylating beta-galactosidase (BGase) was cloned from Penicillium expansum F3. The sequence contained a 3,036-bp open reading frame 1,011-amino-acid protein. This subsequently expressed on the cell surface of Saccharomyces cerevisiae EBY-100 by galactose induction. BGase-anchored yeast could directly utilize lactose to produce galactooligosaccharide (GOS), as well by-products glucose and small quantity galactose. consumed yeast, used for BGase expression, thus...

Abstract Microbially mediated carbon cycling is essential for the production of refractory dissolved organic and subsequent formation stable sinks at sediment–water interface (SWI) in aquatic ecosystems, such as lakes. It remains unclear how this process influenced by hydrostatic pressure changes due to water level fluctuation deep-water reservoirs. Here, a microcosm simulation experiment was carried out decipher response microbially various pressures (i.e., 0.1 MPa [atmospheric pressure],...
