1. The production of a new lysergic acid derivative, identified as D-lysergic α -hydroxyethylamide, in submerged culture and yields up to 1 mg/ml. above, by strain Claviceps paspali Stevens & Hall is reported; this substance can be converted high into amide. 2. morphological properties under different conditions are examined it shown that grows form resembling natural sclerotia. 3. biochemical for the derivative shake flasks stirred fermenters, course fermentation, methods isolation...
Abstract Peri‐tumoral injection of recombinant human interleukin‐I ß in mice transplanted s.c. with Friend erythroleukemia cells (FLC) resulted marked inhibition tumor growth and increased survival. However, vitro treatment FLC (745 or 3CI‐8) IL‐Iß barely inhibited cell multiplication. IL‐Iß, injected into established solid tumors, induced morphologic changes. Vascular congestion focal extravasation erythrocytes were observed as early 6 hr after L1210 tumors HeJ16 fibrosarcomas. Focal areas...
Ovarian carcinomas represent a major form of gynaecological malignancies, whose treatment consists mainly surgery and chemotherapy. Besides the difficulty prognosis, therapy ovarian has reached scarce improvement, as consequence lack efficacy development drug-resistance. The need different biochemical functional parameters grown, in order to obtain larger view on processes biological clinical significance. In this paper we report novel metabolic features detected series human ovary carcinoma...
K562 cells exposed for 3 h to taxol or plus tyrphostin AG957 exhibited a significant variation in the concentration of water-soluble metabolites glutathione, myo-inositol and phosphorylcholine, as evaluated by 1H NMR up 72 incubation drug-free medium. Cells treated with both drugs showed an increase glutathione reductase at 24 sharp decrease between 8 h. Phosphorylcholine increased AG957-treated cells, which was then abruptly inverted significantly lower h, subsequently increasing again...
The wood-decay saprophytic fungus Punctularia atropurpurascens, a species normally growing in tropical and subtropical zones, has been observed on marcescent cork oak stump, mixed wood composed of oaks, pines holm the Villa Ada urban Park Rome, Italy. P. atropurpurascens, with its striking morphology purplish colouration, is considered rare species, also interesting for biological properties chemical molecules it produces. Fungus identity was confirmed by DNA-based analysis.
Abstract This paper reports the results of 31 P and 1 H NMR studies on alterations glycerophosphocholine phosphodiesterase (EC 3.1.4.2) activity in Friend leukemia cells, upon vitro induced erythroid differentiation, which cells undergo a transition from highly proliferative (proerythroblastic) to more mature (normoblastic) state. Experiments cell homogenates incubated presence added (GroPCho) demonstrated that differentiated GroPCho was at least three times higher than undifferentiated...

Specimens of Myriostoma coliforme and Battarrea sp. were found in the same habitat a cypress-aligned alleyway town Trevignano Romano province Rome, Italy. Furthermore, other specimens M. Villa Ada Urban Park city Rome. Species attribution by morphological features is difficult still under investigation was therefore also assessed DNA-based analysis. Specifically, sample to not belong phalloides/stevenii complex. Although both genera are widely spread, only small scattered populations exist...
In this study, further evidences of the presence (sub)tropical Punctularia atropurpurascens in Rome are reported. Besides its generally described saprotrophic behaviour, some new-found specimens revealed a parasitic ability fungus. Moreover, although reputed quite rare fungal species Italy, P. shows great capacity to develop places manifestation under favourable climatic and environmental conditions. A comparison morphological molecular analyses fungus various conditions gives suggestive...
