The clinical manifestations of Fanconi’s anemia, an autosomal recessive disorder, include progressive pancytopenia, a predisposition to neoplasia, and nonhematopoietic developmental anomalies [1-3]. Hypersensitivity the clastogenic effect DNA-cross-linking agents such as diepoxybutane acts diagnostic indicator genotype both prenatally postnatally [3-6]. Prenatal HLA typing has made it possible ascertain whether fetus is HLA-identical affected sibling [7]. We report here on hematopoietic...
An insertion sequence-like element, IS6110, was isolated from a Mycobacterium tuberculosis cosmid library as repetitive sequence. IS6110 shows similarities with elements of the IS3 family. This sequence found to be specific mycobacteria belonging M. complex. For detection and identification bacilli in uncultured specimens, oligonucleotides derived were used primers probes polymerase chain reaction studies. The results obtained consistent classical procedures, bacteriological data, clinical criteria.
Abstract Background Recent studies have suggested that ex vivo expansion of autologous hematopoietic cells could be a therapy choice for the treatment bone marrow failure. We investigated potential combined infusion expanded with mesenchymal (MSCs) multi‐organ failure syndrome following irradiation in non‐human primate model. Methods Hematopoietic and MSCs were from aspirates. transduced gene encoding green fluorescent protein (e‐GFP), order to track them infusion. Twelve animals studied....
Leaching bacteria such as Thiobacillus ferrooxidans attach to pyrite or sulfur by means of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) (lipopolysaccharides). The primary attachment at pH 2 is mediated exopolymer-complexed iron(III) ions in an electrochemical interaction with the negatively charged surface. EPS from cells possess increased hydrophobic properties and do not pyrite, indicating adaptability substrate substratum.
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been shown to migrate various tissues. There is little information on the fate and potential therapeutic efficacy of reinfusion MSCs following total body irradiation (TBI). We addressed this question using human MSC (hMSCs) infused nonobese diabetic/ severe combined immunodeficient (NOD/SCID) mice submitted TBI. Further, we tested impact additional local (ALI) superimposed TBI, as a model accidental irradiation. NOD/SCID were transplanted with hM-SCs. Group...
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) possess unique immunomodulatory properties. They are able to suppress allogenic T-cell response and modify maturation of antigen-presenting cells. Their role in the treatment severe graft versus host disease has been reported. The underlying molecular mechanisms immunosuppression currently being investigated. Histocompatibility locus antigen (HLA)-G is a nonclassical major histocompatibility complex class I with strong immune-inhibitory properties. We studied...
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) inhibit the response of allogeneic T lymphocytes in culture. Because mechanisms this effect may differ according to existence cell contact, we investigated differences gene expression inhibitory molecules during MSC-T lymphocyte coculture when contact does and not occur. Human MSC were cultured together standard transwell cultures. was analyzed by semiquantitative real-time RT-PCR. elicited a high dose-dependent inhibition cultures with but occurred even without...
Electrochemical measurements, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and scanning tunneling microscopy have been used to study the effect of hydrogen peroxide on passivity titanium in a phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) solution. The results indicate that passive film formed PBS solution--with without addition H2O2--may be described with two-layer structure model. inner layer has close TiO2 whereas outer consists hydroxylated compounds. introduction H2O2 solution broadens hydroxylate-rich region,...
The therapeutic potential of bone marrow-derived human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSC) has recently been brought into the spotlights many fields research. One possible application approach is repair tissue injuries related to side effects radiotherapy. first challenge in cell therapy assess quality and ability retain their differentiation during expansion process. Efficient delivery sites intended action also necessary. We addressed both challenges using hMSC cultured then infused non-obese...
