Copper, zinc, magnesium, calcium and iron were measured in serum lung tissue – tumor mass histologically nonneoplastic from cancer patients compared with concentrations healthy subjects control obtained nonmalignant disease. Lung showed a significant increase Cu Cu/Zn ratio levels decrease Zn Fe concentrations. These findings correlated TNM stage of the disease, but not histologic type tumor. Malignant higher level Cu, Ca, Mg, lower than that found samples, as well an Mg regard to samples...

This Perspectives article covers the most relevant current strategies aimed at reducing environmental fingerprint caused by mobile phases in liquid chromatography. Modern stationary phases, such as columns packed with core–shell particles or allowing high-temperature separations, are discussed. Mobile-phase additives creating secondary partitioning equilibria (micelle-forming reagents, cyclodextrins, ionic liquids) and alternatives to acetonitrile organic solvent critically compared terms of...

Abstract A mild and efficient methodology for the synthesis of oxygenated carbazoles from diarylamines under non‐acidic conditions was developed, based on a palladium‐catalyzed, microwave‐assisted double C–H bond activation process. This new protocol successfully applied to three naturally occurring carbazoles, namely murrayafoline A, 2‐methoxy‐3‐methylcarbazole, glycozolidine. The scope reaction also expanded include benzo fused carbazolequinones.(© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA,...

(E)-6-Methyl-4'-amino-2-styrylquinoline (3) is a small molecule with the proper features to potentially diagnose, deliver therapy and monitor response in protein misfolding diseases. These include compound fluorescent emission NIR region its ability interact both Aβ prion fibrils, staining them high selectivity. Styrylquinoline 3 also inhibits self-aggregation vitro replication submicromolar range cellular context. Furthermore, it not toxic able cross blood brain barrier (PAMPA test).

We have developed a scheme to manipulate metallic aerosol particles on silicon dioxide substrates using an atomic force microscope. The method utilizes the noncontact mode both for locating and moving nanoparticles of size 10–100 nm. main advantage our technique is possibility “seeing” particle in real time. Our avoids well sticking problems that typically hamper manipulation contact mode.

Acetonitrile and methanol are the most popular solvents employed in analytical HPLC, but they suffer from a number of drawbacks environmental point view. Alternative, greener mobile phases employing or less toxic solvent ethanol as sole organic proposed this paper, applied to problem separation β-carbolines on C18-stationary phases. The use β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) (2-hydroxypropyl)-β-cyclodextrin (HPβ-CD) phase additives allowed us increase proportion water without loss resolution efficiency...

Tetrahydroisoquinoline derivatives containing embedded urea functions were identified as selective TRPM8 channel receptor antagonists. Structure-activity relationships investigated, with the following conclusions: (a) The function and tetrahydroisoquinoline system are necessary for activity. (b) Bis(1-aryl-6,7dimethoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolyl)ureas more active than compounds one ring an open phenetylamine ureide. (c) Trans their cis isomers. (d) Aryl substituents better alkyls at...

The use of cyclodextrins as drug nano-carrier systems for delivery is gaining importance in the pharmaceutical industry due to interesting pharmacokinetic properties resulting inclusion complexes. In present work, complexes anti-cancer alkaloids camptothecin and luotonin A have been prepared with β-cyclodextrin hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin. These cyclodextrin were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR). variations 1H-NMR 13C-NMR chemical shifts allowed establish modes...

Topoisomerase 1 inhibition is an important strategy in targeted cancer chemotherapy. The drugs currently use acting on this enzyme belong to the family of camptothecins, and suffer severe limitations because their low stability, which associated with hydrolysis δ-lactone moiety E ring. Luotonin A a natural camptothecin analogue that lacks functional group therefore shows much-improved but at cost lower activity. Therefore, development luotonin analogues increased potency for progress area....
