Summary Geostatistics involves the fitting of spatially continuous models to discrete data. Preferential sampling arises when process that determines data locations and being modelled are stochastically dependent. Conventional geostatistical methods assume, if only implicitly, is non-preferential. However, these often used in situations where likely be preferential. For example, mineral exploration, samples may concentrated areas thought yield high grade ore. We give a general expression for...

DT projects are complex endeavors, IT just one aspect manage. Other crucial elements include people, information, processes, capability culture. Embedding into an organization over poorly established processes or without the correct initiatives first step toward failure in projects. Based on processing theory, this research...

During the initial phases of COVID-19 pandemic, accurate tracking has proven unfeasible. Initial estimation methods pointed toward case numbers that were much higher than officially reported. In CoronaSurveys project, we have been addressing this issue using open online surveys with indirect reporting. We compare our estimates results a serology study for Spain, obtaining high correlations (R squared 0.89). view, these strongly support idea reporting as method to broadly sense progress pandemic.

Abstract In this work, the nonparametric kernel prediction will be considered for spatial stochastic processes when a sampling design is assumed selection of locations. We prove that under rather general conditions, mean-squared error tends to negligible as sample size increases. However, use optimal bandwidth demands estimation unknown quantities, whose accurate approximation can often difficult in practice. Hence, alternative cross-validation approaches provided both local and global...

Abstract. The variogram provides an important method for measuring the dependence of attribute values between spatial locations. Suppose that nature sampling process leads to presence clustered data; it would be advisable use a estimator aims adjust clustering samples. In this setting, non‐parametric weighted estimator, obtained by considering inverse weight given neighbourhood density combined with kernel method, seems have satisfactory behaviour in practice. The distribution function of a spatial random process provides the probability that variable involved does not exceed given threshold. Estimation this can be addressed in parametric way, although available data do always support model assumption. Additional options for approximation are based on applying indicator kriging technique or sill estimation, which demand assuming stationary conditions from and also estimation variogram. In paper, latter approaches will redesigned, by previously...
