Abstract Novel aromatic bisubstrate inhibitors of the enzyme EPSP (5-enolpyruvoylshikimate-3-phosphate) synthase (EC 2.5.1.19) have been designed and synthesized as structural analogs single, catalytic intermediate 1 utilized by enzyme. These incorporate novel α-hydroxyphosphonates, malonate ethers α-hydroxymalonates replacements for hydrolytically labile 3-phosphate group. mimics were much preferred to corresponding methylene vinylic phosphonates, malonates phosphonomethyl ethers.

As a typical green leafy vegetable, pakchoi suffers greatly from postharvest loss. This study investigated the impact of sucrose on quality and energy metabolism pakchoi. Sucrose could delay leaf yellowing preserve higher chlorophyll decrease weight loss rate respiration during storage. Compared with control, sucrose‐treated group retained level as indicated by contents adenosine triphosphate (ATP) diphosphate (ADP), well activities cytochrome c oxidase (CCO), succinic dehydrogenase (SDH),...

Abstract BACKGROUND MYB transcription factors (TFs) are common in plants and play important functions growth development, including fruit development ripening. However, the role of proteins papaya ripening (fruit carotenoid biosynthesis) remains unclear. RESULTS Two genes were cloned from pulp. They named CpMYB1 ( MYB44‐like ) CpMYB2 , belong to S22 subgroup R2R3‐MYB family. Their expression levels decreased during Subcellular localization analysis showed that both nuclear proteins,...

Abstract BACKGROUND Ethylene plays a vital role in the ripening process of kiwifruit. A terrific amount transcription factors (TFs) have been shown to regulate ethylene synthesis various fruits. RESULTS In this research, two new NAC TFs, named AcNAC3 and AcNAC4, were isolated from kiwifruit, which belonged NAM subfamily. Bioinformatics analysis showed that both AcNAC4 hydrophilic proteins with similar three‐dimensional structures. The expression levels , AcACO1 increased during kiwifruit...

Increasing attention has been focused on the artificial flavorings added in foods, especially those for infants and children. For first time, a sensitive efficient analytical method based gas chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS) was developed simultaneous identification quantification of four flavoring agents (vanillin, methylvanillin, ethylvanillin, coumarin) infant formula samples. The samples were extracted with methanol/water (v/v, 1:1), cleaned up by solid-phase...

Abstract The concentrations of hexabromocyclododecanes (HBCD) in Sargassum fusiforme , the common Chinese edible seaweed, were investigated by LC‐MS/MS. For recovery HBCD, efficiency levels ultrasonic‐assisted extraction, microwave‐assisted Soxhlet extraction and pressurised liquid compared under different conditions. Pressurised resulted complete HBCD (92.7–102.5% recovery). Microwave‐assisted on other hand, offered relatively low recoveries (82.1–90.6%). instrumental LODs columns this...
