The aim of this study was to analyze the association between vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression on tumor cells and other clinicopathologic parameters in breast cancer that could give additional information its prognostic significance. Immunohistochemical analysis VEGF, estrogen (ER) progesterone receptor (PR), HER-2/neu, Ki67 performed 233 cancers. VEGF estimated semiquantitatively correlated with all above-mentioned as well characteristics such menopausal status patients,...

The membrane EGFR (mEGFR) protein overexpression in the head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is considered to cause increased activity which adds tumorigenicity therapy resistance. mEGFR upon stimulation can translocate nucleus nuclear (nEGFR) where it has been associated with poor prognosis worse survival many cancers. relevance of differentially located proteins laryngeal lesions not studied enough remains unclear. Aim our study was examine nEGFR expression as well gene status cycle...

AimTo evaluate the importance of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) protein overexpression and gene amplification in carcinogenesis glottic cancer.MethodIn order to EGFR expression at level, immunohistochemical (IHC) analysis fluorescent situ hybridization (FISH) were performed on tissue microarrays laryngeal (145 samples) – 38 samples normal mucosa, 46 hyperplastic lesions, 61 cancerous lesions.ResultsMembranous (mEGFR) cytoplasmic (cEGFR) was significantly different between analyzed...

Although enhanced epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling has been connected with glottic cancerogenesis, the precise mechanisms of its activation still remain unclear. The aim present study was to examine EGFR on protein level, confronting cellular pattern expression and gene amplification in carcinomas. Tissue microarray technology applied for uniformity results. Biopsy specimens patients squamous cell carcinoma simple hyperplasia (control samples) were immunostained EGFR....

A case of rare tumor, Merkel cell carcinoma, located in the ear canal a 25-year-old woman is presented. polypoid tumor mass was extirpated, and tympanoplasty done at first operation, whereas second all bones were removed. Epitympanum cavum filled with removed toto. The histopathology immunohistochemical staining characteristics confirmed presence tumor. Postoperatively, radiation therapy to bed completed. There no clinical or radiographic evidence recurrence metastasis for 3 years.

Current therapy of brain abscess (BA) includes a combined approach that involves antibiotics and minimal invasive surgery, but also hyperbaric oxygen treatment (HBOT) as supportive measure. Optimum is still matter significant controversy. The experiment, previously approved by relevant ethical committee, involved 80 female Wistar rats. BA was experimentally induced inoculation Staphylococcus aureus. The animals were randomized into groups treated either with antibiotics, HBOT, or combination...

Abstract In 1982 Vilanova et al. quantitatively described the neovessel area in glioblastoma and suggested zonal differences vessel surface area. this study we investigated specific cell proliferation angiogenic patterns compartment of cortical glioblastoma. We used Ki67, CD34 SMA double immunohistochemical staining to quantitate vascular presented with several parameters angiogenesis. Endothelial was higher complex bizzare neovessels than simple sprouting neovessels. There a frequency...

Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma presents with symptoms of nasal obstruction and epistaxis. The treatment choice is embolization followed by surgery. A 52-year-old man underwent surgery for nasopharyngeal after adjuvant radiofrequency-induced thermotherapy. To the best authors' knowledge, this first case clinical follow-up thermocoagulation therapy supported quantitative, double immunohistochemistry. We found to be interest owing presentation leading biopsy, pathohistological observations...
