Dementia is a frequent non-motor feature of Parkinson's disease (PD). Elevated plasma homocysteine (Hcy) levels have been associated with both cognitive impairment and dementia. Increased Hcy observed in levodopa-treated patients PD. The objective our study was to evaluate the association between dementia We performed multicenter cross-sectional on PD (PDD) without (PDnD) age- sex-matched healthy controls. compared PDD PDnD controls, we logistic regression analysis search for an presence...
We investigated the clinical differences between familial and sporadic frontotemporal dementia (FTD), screening for mutations in known FTD genes. We diagnosed 22 affected individuals belonging to eight families 43 cases with Apulia, Southern Italy, 2 years. Mutations common causative genes (GRN, MAPT, VCP, TARDBP) C9ORF72 expansions were screened.Behavioral variant of was most subtype (50% 69% cases, respectively). Social conduct impairment/disinhibition, loss insight, inflexibility frequent...
Elevated plasma homocysteine (Hcy) concentrations are associated with increased risk of systemic vascular diseases, Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Several cross-sectional reports two prospective clinical studies have recently reported elevated Hcy levels in L-dopa-treated Parkinson's (PD) patients has been proposed as a possible mediator for the development long-term L-dopa motor complications (such wearing off on-off phenomena, dyskinesias). The aim study was to elucidate role...
Abstract Laterza (southern Italy) was the most important town for manufacture of Apulian majolica ceramic from 16th century until end 18th century. The majolicas have previously been subjected to only preliminary analyses. This study extends archaeometric knowledge productions with mineralogical, petrographical and chemical characterizations body, glazed coating pigments majolica. A number 19th pottery tile fragments studied compared clay local surrounding deposits. Analyses were carried out...
Abstract Background and purpose The aim was to evaluate the risk of relapse after severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) vaccination, its safety tolerability, in patients with chronic inflammatory neuropathies. Methods In this multicenter, cohort case‐crossover study, associated SARS‐CoV‐2 vaccination assessed by comparing frequency demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN) who underwent or did not undergo vaccination. Frequency 3...
In this study, the mastery of hypothesis testing (HT) skill and its relationship with control‐of‐variables (CV) formal schema are investigated. A paper‐and‐pencil test, consisting 4 items on CV 2 ht, was administered to a sample 144 high school students (from grades 9 13) majoring in science region southern Italy. Students experienced more difficulties ht logic than schema. The detailed analysis answers given indicates that there few common ‘wrong’ strategies. implications for teaching discussed.
OBJECTIVE:To determine whether clinical onset in familial and sporadic frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is different. BACKGROUND:FTD characterized by progressive changes behavior personality and/or language. Up to 45[percnt] of FTD cases are familial. Familial aggregation not completely explained the already known gene mutations neuropathology. It still clear with history may differ presentation compared cases. DESIGN/METHODS:We identified 64 patients (22 42 cases) years 2012-2014 Apulia, a...
We report a systematic investigation into the relationship between proportional logic and typical Piagetian formal schemata (control of variables, proportions) for group students in informatics department university. The analysis results suggests that unitary structure exists mastery hypothesis testing logic, standard schemata.
The work describes a system built on an existing database supporting at high level both data analyses and decision making in humanistic environment with particular reference to the Italian cultural heritage. user, researcher or scholar, may formulate queries, no matter how complex they are, aided by friendly windowing interface. To achieve this purpose, he is able define appropriate classification developing impossible-to-foresee research strategy. In order analyse data, provides set of...
