Coccidiosis is a devastating parasitic disease caused by organisms belonging to the genus Eimeria infecting poultry globally, causing havoc in industry.Synthetic anticoccidial drugs are being used commercially for prevention and treatment of disease.Drug resistance public health issues leading stopping their routine use.Multiple alternatives suggested, among which essential oils novel substances be tested against this disease. In experiment, efficiency oil Star anise (Illicium verum) was...
Fungal Systematics and Evolution (FUSE) is one of the journal series to address “fusion” between morphological data and molecular phylogenetic describe new fungal taxa interesting observations. This paper 6th contribution in the FUSE series—presenting genus, twelve species, country records, three combinations. The new genus is: Pseudozeugandromyces (Laboulbeniomycetes, Laboulbeniales). The species are: Albatrellopsis flettioides from Pakistan, Aureoboletus garciae from Mexico,...
In a recent revision of the genus Agaricus, A. section Xanthodermatei was split into two sections sect. Hondenses and Xanthodermatei. Our objectives were to investigate species diversity both in Pakistan give an overview major clades. Phylogenetic analyses based on combined nucLSU, ITS TEF1 dataset from 35 specimens revealed three Analyses 106 specimens, including 33 Pakistan, reveal eight new one record species. These nine are described detail. It is noteworthy that intraspecific...
Mushrooms with a thin-fleshed pileus that becomes plicate on opening, deliquescent lamellae and dark brown to blackish basidiospores are commonly called coprinoid mushrooms. The genus Coprinellus is one of the important lineages mushroom in family Psathyrellaceae. Species-level taxonomy based mainly presence or absence structure veil cystidia pileus, basidiospore morphology. In this study, four new species (Co.campanulatus, Co.disseminatus-similis, Co.pakistanicus Co.tenuis) described from...
A new species from coniferous forests in Pakistan, Amanitaahmadii, is described on the basis of morpho-anatomy and molecular data set analyses. This characterized by its medium-sized to large basidiomata, grayish brown pileal surface rimose pileus margin with gray dark verrucose veil remnants, a cream stipe bulbous base having or longitudinal striations above annulus, scaly towards base, globose broadly ellipsoid amyloid basidiospores, absence clamped septa all tissues. Molecular...
Two Gymnopilus species are described and illustrated from northern parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. swaticus is as new to science based on morphological characters data nITS nLSU. penetrans a record for Pakistani mycobiota.
A new species, Descolea quercina, is described and illustrated from Northern parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It characterized by medium to large basidiomata, squamose squamose-granulose hygrophanous pileus, limoniform, verrucose basidiospores with partly concrescent verrucae. Phylogenetic analyses nuc rDNA region encompassing the internal transcribed spacers 1 2 along 5.8S (ITS) 28S D1-D2 domains (28S) also confirmed it as a species. comparison similar taxa provided.
A new species, Amanita griseofusca in section Vaginatae is described and illustrated here from Pakistan. Distinguishing characters of the species include medium-sized basidiomata, greyish brown pileus surface with white to beige, membranous volval remnants present as one (large) a few (small) warts, close lamellae which are cream colored pink tone, striations third total radius, broadly ellipsoidal basidiospores loose saccate volva turning beige at maturity. Molecular data inferred partial...
The genus of basidiomycetous fungi Cortinarius occurs worldwide, from subtropical to boreal latitudes. Although molecular systematics has triggered the study these in Americas and Europe last two decades, there is still limited research on its diversity large portions planet, such as high mountain ranges Asia. Several collections were made during mycological field trips conducted between 2014 2018 pure oak forests Pakistan Himalayas. An integrative framework combining morphological...
The occurrence of Amanita pallidorosea in Pakistan and its ectomycorrhizal association are reported for the first time based on morphological characters nucleotide sequences internal transcribed spacer region generated from basidiomata roots Quercus oblongata [= Q. incana Roxb., nom. illeg.].
Lactifluus volemus (Fr.)Kuntze, an edible mushroom, was collected from moist temperate coniferous forests of Miandam Valley, Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The species is reported and described for the first time Pakistan.Distinguishing features are reddish to orange color, azonate pileus, creamy white milk, crowded gills, sub-cylindric sub-fusiform pleuromacrocystidia, cheilocystidia globose subglobose reticulated spores.
Phylogenetic analysis of ITS and LSU sequence data morphological characters support the recognition Tricholyophyllum rubrum as a new species. The species differs from type genus by its reddish brown pileus surface, presence pleurocystidia, comparatively broader basidiospores. This is first report Pakistan second in world.
Clavariadelphus elongatus is described and illustrated as a new species from moist temperate forests of Pakistan. It characterized by large subcylindrical basidiomata, light yellowish-pink to grayish-reddish orange coloration at maturity ovoid ellipsoid basidiospores. A morphological description line drawings anatomical structures for the are presented comparison with closely allied taxa discussed. Molecular data inferred nuclear rDNA ITS regions supports recognition reported herein.
A new species of Phaeocollybia, P. pakistanica, is described that represents the first record genus from Pakistan. Diagnostic characters include purplish red to brownish pilei, lilaceous gills, a monopodial radicating cartilaginous stipe, small ellipsoidal verruculose brown spores, and thin-walled subcapitate cheilocystidia. ITS-nrDNA sequence analyses support pakistanica as an independent species.
Morphological and phylogenetic analyses were conducted to identify Gymnopus species collected in Pakistan during 2013–14. Phylogenetic analysis was performed using internal transcribed spacer region (ITS) of ribosomal DNA sequences. Among the taxa, we identified barbipes G. dysodes, represent new records for Pakistan. Their detailed descriptions illustrations are also provided.
Infundibulicybe macrospora, a new species, is described and illustrated from the Himalayan moist temperate forests of Pakistan. The species can be differentiated close allies by its reddish orange to light pileus, whitish lamellae stipe, larger broader basidiospores. also supported molecular phylogenetic analysis inferred internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region.
