Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has a poor 5-year survival rate and lacks effective therapeutics. Therefore, it is of paramount importance to identify new targets. Using multiplex data from patient tissue, three-dimensional coculturing in vitro assays, orthotopic murine models, we identified Netrin G1 (NetG1) as promoter PDAC tumorigenesis. We found that NetG1+ cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAF) support survival, through NetG1-mediated effect on glutamate/glutamine metabolism. Also,...

The consumption of chia seeds products has increased recently and it been suggested that the inclusion this functional food in a daily human diet could contribute to improve consumers' health. However, better knowledge about composition these is mandatory. In work, phenolic compounds from commercial samples seed, fiber flour oil were extracted using an ultrasound-assisted methodology separated identified by high-performance liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometer. Methanol:water...

Araticum (Annona crassiflora Mart.) is a native fruit from Brazilian Cerrado widely used by folk medicine. Nevertheless, the biological effects of its seeds and peel have not been extensively evaluated. We evaluate herein antioxidant, antiproliferative healing potential araticum extracts. HPLC-ESI-MS/MS analysis showed flavonoids, namely epicatechin quercetin, as main compounds in extracts, respectively. These extracts high content phenolic (7254.46 97.74 µg/g extract) and, consequence,...

It is projected that in 5 years, pancreatic cancer will become the second deadliest United States. A unique aspect of ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) its stroma; rich cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) and a dense CAF-generated extracellular matrix (ECM). These pathogenic stroma CAF/ECM units cause collapse local blood vessels rendering tumor microenvironment nutrient-poor. PDAC cells are able to survive this state nutrient stress via support from CAF-secreted material, which includes small...

In this work the antiproliferative activity of goniothalamin (1), both in racemic and its enantiomeric pure forms, a solid tumor experimental model using laboratory animals is described. The antiedematogenic displayed by 1 carrageenan edema mice together with reduction Ehrlich suggest relationship between anticancer antiinflammatory activities favoring itself.

Despite the recent advances on biology of cancer associated fibroblasts in pancreatic cancer, there are still controversies concerning their roles. Here we discuss new perspectives how to study functions cancer.

Abstract Purpose: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients with tumors enriched for the basal-like molecular subtype exhibit enhanced resistance to standard-of-care treatments and have significantly worse overall survival compared classic subtype–enriched tumors. It is important develop genomic resources, enabling identification of novel putative targets in a statistically rigorous manner. Experimental Design: We compiled single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) atlas human pancreas...
