The antioxidant defense system involves complex functional coordination of multiple components in different organelles within the plant cell. Here, we have studied Arabidopsis thaliana early response to generation superoxide anion chloroplasts during active photosynthesis. We exposed plants methyl viologen (MV), a propagator light, and performed biochemical expression profiling experiments using Affymetrix ATH1 GeneChip® microarrays under conditions which photosynthesis enzymes were active....
Abstract Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) overexpressing glycolate oxidase (GO) in chloroplasts accumulates both hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and glyoxylate. GO-overexpressing lines (GO plants) grown at 75 μmol quanta m−2 s−1 show retarded development, yellowish rosettes, impaired photosynthetic performance, while 30 s−1, this phenotype virtually disappears. The GO plants develop oxidative stress lesions under photorespiratory conditions but grow like wild-type nonphotorespiratory conditions....
Oxidative stress, arising from an imbalance in the generation and removal of reactive oxygen species (ROS), is a challenge faced by all aerobic organisms. In plants, different pathways sense ROS extracellular sources or organelles such as mitochondria, chloroplast peroxisome. our recent paper on Plant Molecular Biology1 we have studied Arabidopsis thaliana early response to superoxide anion chloroplasts during active photosynthesis. Transcript profile analysis revealed that expression level...
The transcription factor superfamily, APETALA2/ethylene response factor, is involved in plant growth and development, as well environmental stress responses. Here, an uncharacterized gene of this family, AtERF019, was studied Arabidopsis thaliana under abiotic situations. plants overexpressing AtERF019 showed a delay flowering time 7 days senescence 2 weeks when comparison with wild type plants. These also increased tolerance to water deficiency that could be explained by lower transpiration...
Summary X anthomonas axonopodis pv. citri ( ac), the bacterium that causes citrus canker, contains a gene in hrp [for hypersensitive response (HR) and pathogenicity] cluster encodes harpin protein called H pa1. pa1 produced HR nonhost plants tobacco, pepper A rabidopsis, whereas, host plant citrus, it elicited weak defence with no visible phenotype. Co‐infiltrations of ac or without recombinant leaves larger number cankers presence protein. To characterize effect during disease, an acΔhpa1...
Estimation of stomatal aperture using low viscosity silicone-base impression material has the advantage working with whole leaf. The developmental stage and environment strongly affect aperture. Therefore, it is mandatory to have accurate estimations intact leaves under different situations. With this technique, possible get real picture at any moment. outputs data include studies on cell area morphology, epidermis stomata lineages, among others. This protocol useful for estimation in many...
Livestock manure is the main source of ammonia (NH3) and greenhouse gases emissions (GHG), which can be reduced by acidifying manure. This work assessed effect acidification cattle slurry using whey on NH3 GHG during storage, followed its usage for biogas production. Tests were conducted to optimize dose frequency at was applied slurry. Two analyzed treatments, AS1-100 AS1-10, showed when compared with control AS1-0 without whey. In AS1-100, 100% optimized amount added beginning test, while...
Urban and peri-urban lands can be an important source of food production for localised sustainable systems, however, their soils poor quality, degraded or damaged by anthropic activities, little is known about suitability safety. This paper aims to contribute this knowledge gap assessing the soil remediation capacity qualities different types compost made from urban organic wastes agroecological production. Prepared over course 2021, used in 2022 growing, five composts were observed...
