Abstract Background Robotic needle insertion under CT guidance has been developed, but data on comparison with manual are still lacking. Purpose To compare robotic versus for fluoroscopy-guided intervention, primarily in terms of accuracy. Materials and Methods This was a prospective study between May 2020 March 2023 at single site. The cohort comprised 22 patients undergoing (Aquilion One or Aquilion CX; Canon Medical Systems) biopsy, who were randomly allocated to either the group. robot...
To retrospectively evaluate cryoablation combined with prior transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE) for renal cell carcinoma (RCC) in non-dialysis patients stage 4 or 5 chronic kidney disease (CKD).Patients CKD undergoing TAE and RCC between May 2012 October 2021 were included. was selectively performed using iodized oil absolute ethanol gelatin sponge 1-14 days before cryoablation. Local efficacy, safety, changes function evaluated.Nine (seven men two women; median age, 64 years; range...
<h3>BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE:</h3> Metal artifacts reduce the quality of CT images and increase difficulty interpretation. This study compared ability model-based iterative reconstruction hybrid to improve image in patients with metallic dental when both techniques were combined a metal artifact reduction algorithm. <h3>MATERIALS METHODS:</h3> retrospective clinical included 40 (men, 31; women, 9; mean age, 62.9 ± 12.3 years) oral oropharyngeal cancer who had fillings or implants underwent...
Aims: The demand for specimen collection genomic profiling is rapidly increasing in the era of personalized medicine. Percutaneous needle biopsy recognized as minimally invasive, but feasibility comprehensive analysis using next-generation sequencing (NGS) not yet clear. The purpose this study was to evaluate NGS with specimens obtained by image-guided percutaneous 18-G needles. Patients and methods: Forty-eight patients who participated a clinical were included. All biopsies...
Abstract Purpose To retrospectively evaluate the depiction rate of feeding arteries in biopsy-proven clear cell renal carcinoma (CCRCC) on four-dimensional computed tomography angiography (4D-CTA) images. Materials and methods This study included 22 patients with CCRCC 30 treated transcatheter artery embolization. The preprocedural 4D-CTA was evaluated. Images were acquired by 320-row multi-detector (CT) 15‒36 s after starting to inject a contrast agent (600 mg/kg iodine) intravenously into...
We report the case of a 38-year-old man with two von Hippel-Lindau disease-associated T1a renal cell carcinomas (RCCs) (<2 cm in diameter) which developed into 2.5-cm solitary diaphragmatic metastatic tumor. After diagnosis using percutaneous biopsy, metastasis and RCCs were treated by laparoscopic resection cryoablation, respectively. One year after treatment, patient survived without local recurrence or distant metastasis. This describes rare RCC VHL disease its treatment.
To retrospectively assess the feasibility, safety, renal function, technique efficacy rate, and survival of patients with clinical T3a cell carcinoma (RCC).Sixteen cryoablation sessions were performed in 14 (10 men; mean age, 69.8 ± 10.5 years; range, 49-90 years) clear RCCs (mean, 3.3 0.9 cm; 1.9-5.2 cm). One patient was on dialysis. Transcatheter arterial embolization before 15 sessions. The primary endpoint rate. secondary endpoints included survival.Cryoablation technically successful...
A 74-year-old man developed a giant wide-necked pulmonary artery pseudoaneurysm. To prevent life-threatening haemoptysis, we performed percutaneous transcatheter coil embolization for the effectively isolate pseudoaneurysm with minimal number of coils, used steering microcatheter. With intentional folding using bendable tip steerable microcatheter, achieved compact packing target vessels, thus avoiding deviations and non-target embolization.
Objective To examine whether peppy comments from attending physicians increased the workload of residents working in emergency department (ED). Methods We conducted two parallel-group, assessor-blinded, randomized trials at ED a tertiary care hospital western Japan. Twenty-five who examined either ambulatory (J(^o^)PAN-1 Trial) or transferred patients (J(^o^)PAN-2 on weekdays. Participants were randomly assigned to groups that received message such as “Hope you have quiet day!” (intervention...
To retrospectively evaluate and correlate the contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) non-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) during early period following renal cryoablation. Both dynamic CECT MRI were performed within 4 days cryoablation in 34 tumors 33 patients. The volumes of unenhanced regions on (nephrogenic phase, mm thickness) with signal intensity changes (fat-suppressed T2-weighted image, evaluated. Fusion images axial, coronal, sagittal sections created from maximum...
We report a case of postoperative pseudoaneurysm, successfully treated with selective arterial embolization, using steerable microcatheter and triaxial system
This study aimed to assess the outcomes of percutaneous cryoablation (PCA) for renal cell carcinomas (RCCs) contacting critical organs without intervening fat tissue. Twenty-three patients with 24 RCCs (mean size, 28.8 mm) on preprocedural images were included. The organ displacement techniques, technical success, efficacy, and adverse events per Clavien-Dindo classification retrospectively reviewed. included colon (n = 16), pancreas 3), duodenum small intestine 1), stomach 1). In all...
