Abstract Background Trypanosomatids are parasitic flagellates well known because of some representatives infecting humans, domestic animals, and cultural plants. Many trypanosomatid species bear RNA viruses, which, in the case human pathogens Leishmania spp., influence course disease. One close relatives leishmaniae, Leptomonas pyrrhocoris , has been previously shown to harbor viruses groups not documented other trypanosomatids. At same time, this a worldwide distribution high prevalence...
The Tatra chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra tatrica) is a significant representative of the High Mountains endemic fauna species. In terms health hazards for these animals, an important role played by parasitic infections that can lead to depletion entire population. The aim study was describe occurrence gastrointestinal parasites in current environmental and climatic conditions Mountains.During pilot project 2014 - 2017, total 494 faecal samples were collected from Slovak 114 Polish part mountain...
The study provides a detailed historical overview of faunistic studies dealing with the oribatid mites Tatra Mountains and contains comprehensive list showing that fauna Mts. includes 321 species oribatids from 51 families. Within our research during season 2018–2021, we recorded total 101 (22,554 specimens) 33 families in studied sites Lomnické Saddle, Velická Valley, Tomanová Waksmundzka Valley. Our findings revealed great diversity alpine grade, presence boreal boreomontane species, such...
Tatra chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra tatrica (Blahout 1972)) and marmot (Marmota marmota latirostris (Kratochvíl 1961)) are significant endemic subspecies of the subalpine alpine ranges Mountains in Central Europe. In four studied localities range their typical biotopes Slovakia Poland, we investigated intestinal parasites marmots, with an emphasis on anoplocephalid tapeworms. We also occurrence, species diversity, abundance oribatid mites as intermediate hosts thereof, prevalence cysticercoid...
Abstract In this work, we investigated parasites of the firebug Pyrrhocoris apterus in Austria and demonstrated that addition to extensively studied Leptomonas pyrrhocoris , it can also be infected by Blastocrithidia sp. a mermithid, which for first time has been characterized using molecular methods. This diversity explained gregarious lifestyle, as well coprophagous cannibalistic behavior insect hosts makes them susceptible various parasites. addition, showed no tight association L ....
