Context: In addition to designer benzodiazepines such as etizolam, deschloroetizolam, pyrazolam, diclazepam, nifoxipam, or clonazolam, a new psychoactive substance like flubromazolam, triazole of flubromazepam has become available. Flubromazolam is currently not marketed medication but rather research chemical and recreational drug. It mostly causes sedative effects also moderate anti-anxiety muscle relaxant effects. A case severe intoxication flubromazolam been reported. Case details:...

Background: Parenteral nutrition (PN) is a lifesaving therapeutic approach for patients unable to meet nutritional needs through oral or enteral routes. Lipid nanoemulsions (NEs), critical component of PN, provide essential fatty acids and influence the formulation’s physicochemical properties. Advances in drug delivery systems have led novel intravenous NEs with improved stability, purity, ability nutrient/active substance delivery. Due scattered information lack standardized protocol...

A serious case of barium intoxication from suicidal ingestion is reported. Oral chloride poisoning with hypokalemia, neuromuscular and cardiac toxicity, treated intravenous potassium supplementation hemodialysis, was confirmed by the determination concentrations in gastric contents, blood, serum urine using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry method. Barium analyzed specimens were 20.45 µg/L serum, 150 10,500 63,500 contents. Results compared levels obtained a non-intoxicated person.

Unconventional (alternative, natural) medicine in Poland and worldwide includes hundreds of non-scientifically verified "treatment" modalities. Among the most popular are biological therapies using chemical or natural compounds administered with injection drip infusion. The latter has found excellent use treating rheumatological dermatological diseases certain types cancer. Vitamin infusions, curcumin, glutathione, perhydrol dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO) have gained popularity among clients...

The post-injection olanzapine delirium/sedation syndrome (PDSS) was observed in a 60-year-old Caucasian, schizophrenic, non-smoker and underweight [body mass index (BMI), 18.2 kg/m(2) ] women after the fourth intramuscular injection of 405 mg pamoate. Clinical symptoms PDSS were similar to those acute oral intoxication. patient received supportive treatment recovered fully. High concentrations serum, with maximum level 698 ng/mL, confirmed by liquid chromatography tandem spectrometry...

In recent years, the administration of fentanyl (FNTL) implicitly in transdermal drug delivery systems (TDDS) has vastly increased chronic pain treatment. Non-medical and uncontrolled use FNTL TFDS (transdermal systems) may reveal toxic effects by route exposure, dermal or alternative, ingestion patches, release stomach. The purpose this study was to present three different cases poisonings, two which resulted death due abuse. first case is a 66-year-old woman treated for accidental FTNL...

Quetiapine (QT) belongs to the second generation of antipsychotics. It is mostly used treat depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. During biotransformation via myeloperoxidase (MPO) QT oxidized quinoneimine a reactive radical, which may contribute development oxidative stress during intoxication. The coexisting inflammation also significantly disturbances in course poisoning. In this study, twenty-one patients poisoned with quetiapine were examined. study aimed assess correlation...
