Lycium barbarum polysaccharides (LBP) are considered to be the major bioactive components of L. and have been widely used as a well-known traditional Chinese medicine functional food because their various biological activities. However, no published research has investigated use LBP feed additive in broilers. The objective this study was evaluate effects dietary supplementation on growth performance, digestive enzyme activities, antioxidant status, immunity broiler chickens. A total 256...

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of dietary protease supplementation on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, intestinal morphology, digestive enzymes and gene expression in weaned piglets. A total 300 piglets (21 days age Duroc × Large White Landrace; initial BW = 6.27 ± 0.45 kg) were randomly divided into 5 groups. The diets were: 1) positive control diet (PC), 2) negative (NC), 3) supplementations, which 100, 200, mg per kg NC diet. Results indicated that final BW,...

Tryptophan (Trp) plays an essential role in pig behavior and growth performances. However, little is known about Trp's effects on tight junction barrier intestinal health weaned pigs. In the present study, twenty-four (24) pigs were randomly assigned to one of three treatments with 8 piglets/treatments. The piglets fed different amounts L-tryptophan (L-Trp) as follows: 0.0%, 0.15, 0.75%, respectively, named zero Trp (ZTS), low (LTS), high (HTS), respectively. No significant differences...

Acanthopanax senticosus (AS) is a well-known, highly effective traditional Chinese herbal medicine. Polysaccharides extracted from AS (ASPS) have multiple pharmacologic and biological activities with potential use as additives in broiler chicken feed. This trial evaluated the effects of dietary ASPS on growth performance, immune function, antioxidation, ileal microbial populations chickens. PURPOSE: The major mechanism of resistance to alkylnitrosourea therapy involves the DNA repair protein O 6 -alkylguanine-DNA alkyltransferase (AGT), which removes chloroethylation or methylation damage from position guanine. -benzylguanine (O -BG) is an AGT substrate that inhibits by suicide inactivation. We conducted a phase I trial carmustine (BCNU) plus -BG define toxicity and maximum-tolerated dose (MTD) BCNU in conjunction with preadministration recurrent progressive malignant glioma....

Abstract Lycium barbarum polysaccharides (LBPs) are a complex mixture of highly branched and partially characterised proteoglycans extracted from the goji berry. This has great potential as novel feed supplement for pigs. Two trials were conducted to evaluate effects supplementation with LBPs on growth performance, immune status, antioxidant capacity selected intestinal microbial populations in weaned piglets. In trial 1, total 400 piglets [(Yorkshire × Landrace) Duroc] an average body...

Alpha-ketoglutarate (AKG), a critical molecule in the tricarboxylic acid cycle, is beneficial to intestinal functions. However, its influence on microbiota and metabolism not fully understood. We investigated effects of low-protein (LP) diet supplemented with AKG cecal microbial communities parameters growing pigs. Twenty-seven young pigs (Large White × Landrace) an average initial body weight 11.96 ± 0.18 kg were randomly allotted into three groups (n=9): normal protein (NP) containing 20%...

The aim of this study was to compare the effect dietary supplementation with low dose porous and nano zinc oxide (ZnO) on weaning piglets, evaluate possibility using them as an alternative high regular ZnO. Piglets were randomly allocated into four treatment groups fed diets: (1) basal diet (NC), (2) NC+ 3000 mg/kg ZnO (PC), (3) NC + 500 (HiZ) (4) (ZNP). result showed that piglets in HiZ group had less diarrhea than ZNP (P < 0.05). Besides, there no significant difference between PC, terms...
