Six disinfectant chemicals were tested individually for effectiveness against low pathogenic avian influenza virus (LPAIV) A/H7N2/Chick/MinhMa/04. The agents included acetic acid (C2H4O2), citric (C6H8O7), calcium hypochlorite (Ca(ClO)2), sodium (NaOCl), a powdered laundry detergent with peroxygen (bleach), and commercially available iodine/acid disinfectant. Four of the six chemicals, including (5%), (1% 3%), (750 ppm), ppm) effectively inactivated LPAIV on hard nonporous surfaces....

The existence zoonotic strains, causing cases human infection throughout Eastern Asia, increased interest in prevention and containment outbreaks. Research led to development mass emergency depopulation method utilizing water-based foam for turkeys chickens. Birds undergoing cannot be easily observed determine time death. As result, means monitor birds death was needed developed parallel new method....

Background Although EMB an established diagnostic tool suspected myocarditis, there lack clear guidelines for patients, particularly infants. Methods We performed retrospective database review subsequent outcomes analysis from five Italian cardiology centers identify patients aged 0–18 years...

Results compared with those manual tracing by an expert cardiologist. Nearest neighbour tracking finite-element theory merged calculate local myocardial strains torsion. The method was...

Balloon angioplasty may be performed as the first treatment of aortic coarctation to stabilize newborns too sick for immediate surgery. The issue vascular access is key successful critical newborns. In our study, we argue that lesser-known axillary route safest and most effective balloon in infants with coarctation. To support this argument, present case eight unstable complex heart diseases, who were successfully treated percutaneous intervention through artery. This series followed by an...

Abstract Introduction Costello syndrome is a rare disease, caused by mutation of the HRAS gene, associated with intellectual disability, growth retardation, facial dimorphisms. Cardiac abnormalities, mainly cardiac hypertrophy and multifocal atrial tachycardia, are present in 1/3 patients. Clinical Cases From 2019 to 2023, 3 newborns came under our observation. M.M. showed respiratory distress, hypotonia dysmorphic notes; genetic analysis highlighted pathogenic variant c.64C>A...

: The usual surgical practice after repair of a Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection (TAPVC) is to ligate the vertical vein (VV). Many surgeons find it expedient leave VV unligated reduce pulmonary arterial pressure, decrease perioperative hypertensive crisis, provide better hemodynamics postoperatively (1), and enable adaptation cardiac chambers new workload. Abstract Introduction The transoesophageal electrophysiological study (SETE) is a simple, semi–invasive and highly reliable test for risk stratification in patients with ventricular pre–excitation. In paediatric subjects, symptoms may be nonspecific or poorly reported; hence the usefulness of guiding therapeutic strategy. guidelines also suggest performing it all asymptomatic preexcitation above 8 years age.Purpose study: to evaluate inducibility re–entry tachycardia at SETE Materials...

Chest pain presenting during childhood is a common cause of admission to the emergency departments or pediatric outpatient consultations. In most cases chest idiopathic secondary musculoskeletal disorders, whereas cardiac origin confirmed in minority (0.5-1%). The peak incidence can be registered between 10-14 years, mainly involving males. Early identification requiring further investigation allows prompt diagnosis, limiting unnecessary exams and prolonged hospitalization.

Pediatric cardiomyopathies are rare diseases, heterogeneous in clinical presentation, etiology and prognosis. Etiological diagnosis, where genetic analysis plays a key role, is of fundamental importance for defining diagnostic therapeutic pathways. Furthermore, the identification substrate represents prerequisite cascade screening proband's family members to allow conscious reproductive choices. To date, testing performed with gene panels (targeted panels) or study entire exome (whole...
