The aim of this study was to evaluate the antidiabetic properties collagen hydrolysates (CHs). CHs exhibited dipeptidyl peptidase-IV inhibitory activity and stimulated glucagon-like-peptide-1 (GLP-1) secretion in vitro. We also determined whether improve glucose tolerance normal mice. Oral administration suppressed glycemic response during oral intraperitoneal tests (OGTT IPGTT), but effects were weaker IPGTT than OGTT. had no effect on gastric emptying rate. A pretreatment with GLP-1...
Objective The various functionalities of collagen peptides have generated a large interest in utilizing the bioactive as nutritional therapy to ameliorate physiological degenerative conditions. Collagen are observed reduce pain and aligned difficulties with respect osteoarthritis. Here we report enhanced ameliorating property novel high-functional “Wellnex” Type J following double-blind randomized active placebo-controlled 5-arm clinical trial ( n = 100) by using it supplement subjects knee...
Abstract Collagens act as cellular scaffolds in extracellular matrixes, and their breakdown products may also have important biological functions. We hypothesize that collagen dipeptide Pro-Hyp induces favorable healing activities examined the effects of administered via different routes on wound using our novel murine model, which an advanced fibrosis-prone scar lesion was developed abdominal muscle wall under skin. After excising a part wall, free-drinking experiment performed solutions...
This study investigated the effects of collagen hydrolysates (CH) on language cognitive function and brain structure. In this open-label study, 5 g CH was administered once a day for 4 weeks to 30 healthy participants aged 49-63 years. The primary outcome measures were healthcare quotients based gray matter volume (GM-BHQ) fractional anisotropy (FA-BHQ). secondary changes in scores between week 0 word list memory (WLM) standard verbal paired associate learning (S-PA) tests as well physical,...
In this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, we investigated the effects of collagen peptides (CP) containing high concentrations prolyl-hydroxyproline and hydroxyprolyl-glycine on advanced glycation end products (AGEs) levels in skin subcutaneous blood vessel walls. A total 31 individuals aged 47-87 years were randomly assigned to receive either 5 g/day fish-derived CP or a placebo for 12 weeks. Body compositions AGEs measured at beginning study. No adverse events observed,...
We examined the effect of 5.0 g/day collagen peptide (CP) or fermented with Aspergillus sojae (FCP) on skin pigmentation in healthy participants. In this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, 44 men and women aged 25-63 years were placed into three groups by stratified random allocation treated CP, FCP, placebo (PL) at for 3 months. Their condition was measured monthly from baseline to months intake. No adverse events identified any group. The CP group showed a significant...
Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors constitute an innovative class of oral agents for the treatment Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). DPP-4 increase glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) availability and correct “incretin defect” seen in T2DM patients. Peptides derived from collagen have been reported to inhibitory properties. A double blind randomized trial has conducted evaluate effectiveness Collagen peptides (CPT) as nutritional supplement subjects with T2DM. Resistant dextrin (RD), a...
Hypertrophic scars found on the human body rarely develop in experimental animals, possibly due to their looser skin structure. This makes it difficult understand genesis of scar lesions. Therefore, appropriate animal models are urgently needed. In this study, we established a novel model scar-forming wound by resecting small portion abdominal muscle wall lower center abdomen C57BL/6N mice, which exposed contractive forces surrounding tissue. As low-tension control, back excision was used...
This study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of different doses Bioactive Collagen Peptide (BACP) in Monoiodo Acetic Acid (MIA) induced Osteoarthritis (OA) rats comparison with conventional (CP).Animals were supplemented daily CP (1033 mg/kg) and BACPs a dosage 1033mg/kg, 517mg/kg, 258 mg/kg, 103mg/kg which are equivalent human 10g, 5g, 2.5g 1g respectively.Etoricoxib (10mg/kg) used as reference drug.Different parameters such Rotarod fall latency, heat hyperalgesia, cold...

Oral ingestion of collagen hydrolysate has various benecial effects. We developed a novel fermented peptide (FCP), different from the conventional peptides, by fermenting gelatin with Aspergillus sojae. This study aimed to investigate effect FCP in inhibiting fat accumulation under high-fat loading. Male C57BL/6J mice were fed low- or diet, diet including 5% for 28 d. Body weight, visceral adiponectin levels, leptin concentration, fatty acid synthase (FAS) activity, and carnitine...
Abstract Scar tissue formation is a result of excess healing reactions after wounding. Hypertrophic scars scarcely develop in mouse. In the present study, we established novel experimental model scar-forming wound by resecting small portion abdominal wall on lower center abdomen, which exposed contractive forces surrounding muscle tissue. As tension-less control, back-skin excision was used with splint fixed onto excised skin edge, and granulation formed facia supported back skeleton. One...
