The aim of this study was to evaluate the antidiabetic properties collagen hydrolysates (CHs). CHs exhibited dipeptidyl peptidase-IV inhibitory activity and stimulated glucagon-like-peptide-1 (GLP-1) secretion in vitro. We also determined whether improve glucose tolerance normal mice. Oral administration suppressed glycemic response during oral intraperitoneal tests (OGTT IPGTT), but effects were weaker IPGTT than OGTT. had no effect on gastric emptying rate. A pretreatment with GLP-1...

In this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, we investigated the effects of collagen peptides (CP) containing high concentrations prolyl-hydroxyproline and hydroxyprolyl-glycine on advanced glycation end products (AGEs) levels in skin subcutaneous blood vessel walls. A total 31 individuals aged 47-87 years were randomly assigned to receive either 5 g/day fish-derived CP or a placebo for 12 weeks. Body compositions AGEs measured at beginning study. Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors constitute an innovative class of oral agents for the treatment Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). DPP-4 increase glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) availability and correct “incretin defect” seen in T2DM patients. Peptides derived from collagen have been reported to inhibitory properties. A double blind randomized trial has conducted evaluate effectiveness Collagen peptides (CPT) as nutritional supplement subjects with T2DM. Resistant dextrin (RD), a...

Hypertrophic scars found on the human body rarely develop in experimental animals, possibly due to their looser skin structure. This makes it difficult understand genesis of scar lesions. Therefore, appropriate animal models are urgently needed. In this study, we established a novel model scar-forming wound by resecting small portion abdominal muscle wall lower center abdomen C57BL/6N mice, which exposed contractive forces surrounding tissue.
