Silver nanowires synthesized through a polyol process using polyvinylpyrrolidone as protection (PVP-AgNWs) were used new electrode material for constructing sensor. Hydrogen peroxide (H(2)O(2)) and glucose analytes to demonstrate the sensor performance of PVP-AgNWs. It is found that PVP-AgNWs-modified glassy carbon (PVP-AgNWs/GCE) exhibits remarkable catalytic toward H(2)O(2) reduction. This has fast amperometric response time less than 2 s current linear over concentration ranging from 20...

The lack of highly efficient and long-term stable catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) severely hampers advancement alkaline seawater electrolysis. Herein, a hierarchical superaerophobic OER catalyst electrode, FeOOH/CoFe layered double hydroxide (FeOOH/CoFe LDH), has been prepared on nickel foam through one-step hydrothermal as an nanostructure provides abundant active sites catalyst; property ensures sufficient contact between electrolyte, interaction FeOOH CoFe LDH further...

Infections caused by multidrug-resistant pathogens have emerged as a serious threat to public health. To develop new antibacterial agents combat such drug-resistant bacteria, class of novel amphiphilic xanthoangelol-derived compounds were designed and synthesized mimicking the structure function antimicrobial peptides (AMPs). Among them, compound

The bacterial cell division protein, FtsZ, has been identified as a target for antimicrobial development. Derivatives of 3-methoxybenzamide have shown promising activities FtsZ inhibitors in Gram-positive bacteria. We sought to characterise the activity five difluorobenzamide derivatives with non-heterocyclic substituents attached through 3-oxygen. These compounds exhibited against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), an isopentyloxy-substituted compound showing modest...

We consider a two-stage planning problem where fleet of snowplow trucks is divided among set independent regions, each which then designs routes for efficient snow removal. The central authority wishes to allocate improve service quality across the regions. Stochasticity introduced by uncertain weather conditions and unforeseen failures trucks. study two versions this problem. first aims minimize maximum turnaround time (across all regions) that can be sustained with user-specified...
