Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) within their native environment of the cell niche in bone receive biochemical stimuli from surrounding cells. These likely infl uence how MSCs differentiate to become precursors. The ability undergo osteogenic differentiation is well established vitro; however, role natural cues bone's regulatory cells, osteocytes and osteoblasts regulating vivo are unclear. In this study we delineate signalling osteoblasts, using conditioned media co-culture experiments,...
A technique of examining the infant hip joint with real-time ultrasound is described. Since cartilaginous femoral head clearly imaged by ultrasound, anatomical structures and their relationships can be accurately determined. Dislocated hips are easily detected subluxations also visualized. We report our experience 131 examinations in 104 patients, comprising 259 single studies. Of 83 patients who were previously untreated, there 178 studies three false-negative four false-positive results....
Background Although it is common practice to wait for an ‘embedding time’ during mechanical thrombectomy (MT) allow strut integration of a stentriever device into occluding thromboembolic clot, there scarcity evidence demonstrating the value or optimal timing wide range thrombus compositions. This work characterizes behavior clot analogs varying fibrin and cellular compositions subject indentation forces embedding times representative those imparted by MT. The purpose this study quantify...
Clot mechanical properties are influenced by composition and the arrangement of components within clot. This work investigates effects platelet-driven contraction on blood clot microstructure behavior, provides insight into some implications for thrombectomy.Platelet-contracted analogues (PCCs) non-contracted (NCCs) were prepared from mixtures various hematocrits (%H), that is, volume percentage red cells (RBCs) in mixture. Mechanical testing was performed to compare behavior with previously...
