Abstract Rigid polyurethane (RPU) foams were synthesized incorporating up to 18 wt % of two different kinds thermo‐regulating microcapsules having a shell material consisting polystyrene or poly(methyl methacrylate), named as mSP‐(PS‐RT27) and Micronal®DS 5001X, respectively. The type their content affected the final foam height, which decreased with particle size. However, rising curve shape was not dependent on successfully predicted by means model reaction four tanks in series. Thermal...
Flexible polyurethane foams (FPUs) having polystyrene (PS) stabilized by silica gel or polystyrene-acrylonitrile (SAN) particles were synthesized employing polymer polyether polyols (PPPs). The filler and its content effect on physical, mechanical thermal properties of FPUs studied. FPU stability increased with PS into PPP no interaction filler-polymeric network was observed. Meanwhile, containing as more thermally stable mechanically resistant -except the elongation-than those from...
In November 2013 an International Key Comparison, CCM.G-K2, was organized in the Underground Laboratory for Geodynamics Walferdange. The comparison has assembled 25 participants coming from 19 countries and four different continents. divided into two parts: key that included 10 NMIs or DIs, pilot study including all participants. global result given by confirms instruments are absolutely coherent to each other. results obtained confirm a good agreement between NMI instruments.
ABSTRACT Polyurethane (PU) is one of the most important polymers with a global production 17.565 million tons, which makes its recycling an urgent task. Besides, main goal PU to recover constituent polyol as valuable raw material that allows obtain new suitable properties. Split‐phase glycolysis can be considered interesting process since provides high‐quality recovered products in terms purity. The aim this work was evaluate several polyols replacement flexible polyether synthesis foams....
The glycolysis process of flexible polyurethane foams containing styrene–acrylonitrile and calcium carbonate as fillers was explored in detail. use DABCO a catalyst allowed us to reduce the concentration polyurethane-to-glycol mass ratio 0.1% 1:1, respectively. obtain high-purity polyol (99%), which can totally replace raw polyols synthesis new foams, maintaining standard mechanical properties original one modifying isocyanates employed correct closed cell structure caused by impurities...
Serious game-based learning coupled with just-in-time teaching strategies was applied by offering six different questionnaires to evaluate student knowledge about the safety issues and theoretical concepts protocols of laboratory exercises. The were presented an appearance similar that computer games means Kahoot! platform. Passing questionnaire mandatory, high scores achieved all students, ensuring they properly knew rules. We consider this point essential in chemistry engineering...
