The 8th International Comparison of Absolute Gravimeters (ICAG2009) took place at the headquarters Bureau Weights and Measures (BIPM) from September to October 2009. It was first ICAG organized as a key comparison in framework CIPM Mutual Recognition Arrangement Committee for (CIPM MRA) 1999). ICAG2009 composed Key (KC) defined by MRA, Consultative Mass Related Quantities (CCM) designated CCM.G-K1. Participating gravimeters their operators came national metrology institutes (NMIs) or (DIs)...
In November 2013 an International Key Comparison, CCM.G-K2, was organized in the Underground Laboratory for Geodynamics Walferdange. The comparison has assembled 25 participants coming from 19 countries and four different continents. divided into two parts: key that included 10 NMIs or DIs, pilot study including all participants. global result given by confirms instruments are absolutely coherent to each other. results obtained confirm a good agreement between NMI instruments.
The CCM.G-K2.2017 comparison was organised for the purpose of determination degree equivalence national standards free-fall acceleration measurement. held in Changping Campus National Institute Metrology China (NIM), from October to November 2017. This is first time that such a organized outside Europe continent and establishes new global sites China. also largest ever with participation 13 instruments. We give list participants who actually performed measurements during comparison, data...
Using the field emission effect of a carbon nanotube (CNT), we characterized new type technology for detecting low pressure. The fabricated pressure sensor is triode type, consisting cathode (carbon nanotubes emitter arrays), grid, and collector. gauge described here has configuration similar to that conventional hot ionization but also cold source. Due excellent characteristics CNT, it possible make cost effective gauge. For an CNT cathode, used screen-printing method also, controlled...
In the revised international system of units (SI), kilogram is realized through methods linking mass to Planck constant such as Kibble balance experiment and x-ray crystal density method. We report on first for realization at Korea Research Institute Standards Science (KRISS). The masses two artefacts (platinum–iridium stainless steel) were measured using KRISS between December 2019 January 2020 a pressure 3 × 10–3 Pa 4 Pa. relative standard uncertainty was 1.2 10–7. platinum–iridium...
A low-pressure detection technology utilizing the field emission of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is introduced and its performance characterized. To overcome limitations conventional ionization gauges, CNTs had been proposed as an electron source. However, simple triode structure previous CNT pressure sensor not only has suffered from a limited measurement range but also subject to serious array degradation problem. In this letter, authors report characterization results improved CNT-based gauge,...
Recently, the need for calibration of dynamic pressure sensors has increased as is required more reliable measurements in advanced industries. Up until recently, most have been calibrated by reference sensors, which were static standards. Dynamic calibrators are available, but reality they not traceable to international In high-pressure range, high instruments using step generators and their standardization required. this paper, without any ripple output signal was implemented quick-opening...
This report describes the results of a key comparison hydraulic high-pressure standards at nine National Metrology Institutes (NMIs: NMIJ/AIST, NPLI, NMC/A*STAR, NIMT, NMIA, NIM, CMS/ITRI, KIM-LIPI, and KRISS) within framework Asia-Pacific Programme (APMP) in order to determine their degrees equivalence pressure range from 50 MPa 500 gauge mode. The pilot institute was Institute Japan (NMIJ/AIST). All participating institutes used balances as standards. A set balance with free-deformational...
A dynamic high pressure standard is becoming more essential in the fields of mobile engines, space science, and especially area defense such as long-range missile development. However, a complication arises when sensor compared with reference gauge calibrated static mode. Also, it difficult to determine signal from calibrator because generates unnecessary oscillations positive-going step method. calibrator, using quick-opening ball valve, fast change within 1 ms; however, also big impulse...
Abstract Relativistic redshift correction should be accurately considered in frequency comparisons between standards. In this study, we evaluated the relativistic at Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) using three different methods, depending on whether approach was traditional or modern geopotential model global local. The results methods agreed well with one another, height an Yb optical lattice clock (KRISS-Yb1) determined to 75.15 m uncertainty 0.04 respect...
The International Comparison of Absolute Gravimeters 2009 (ICAG2009) was carried out in September at the Bureau Weights and Measures (BIPM). ICAG2009 its data processing were performed accordance with agreed Technical Protocol which approved by Steering Committee. pilot laboratory (BIPM) evaluated final results key comparison from measurements made BIPM framework ICAG2009. A study run parallel allowed evaluation offsets for absolute gravimeters institutes not fulfilling requirements...
The null balance method for micro- and nano-force measurement is widely used in various precision industries. A parallel spring a lever mechanism are designed analysed an electrostatic force by the method. Various design parameters required to obtain high resolution, large range, fast response. corner loading error one of most dominant sources that should be removed. known as Roberval mechanism, micro-weighing device, can one-axis since it very sensitive vertical direction force, but...
Nine leading journals that publish statistical theory are used to provide a data base of institutional and individual research activity in statistics over the period 1980–1986. From this base, we construct both rankings according standardized page counts articles published these stated period. The study is worldwide breakdowns publication by country journal. Separate also provided for institutions individuals track records Annals Statistics alone.
A newly developed low pressure detection technology using carbon nanotube (CNT) field emission effect has been designed and manufactured. The fabricated sensor is of a triode type, consisting cathode (CNTs emitter arrays), grid collector. principle described here that, for constant number electrons available ionization emitted from CNT arrays by potential, fraction gas molecules will be ionized the ions collected in collector proportional to chamber traversed electrons. Due excellent...
It is becoming more important to measure the pressure in high temperature environments many industrial fields. However, there no appropriate evaluation system and compensation method for sensors since most standards have been established at room temperature. In order evaluate used harsh environments, such as temperatures above 250 °C, a specialized has constructed evaluated this study. The standard connected sensor through chiller. can be conditions of changing pressures constant pressures....
Gravity was investigated to obtain the local acceleration due gravity at center of test mass in KRISS watt balance system. Three terms were considered order determine gravity. Before installing system, absolute measured by a freefall type gravimeter, after which, transferred vertical gradient. The change self-attraction system calculated using an analog electrostatic force. mean value is (979 832 568.9 ± 5.0) μGal (k = 2, 1 × 10 <sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"...
An optimized impulse dynamic pressure generator based on a drop-weight method was developed as secondary standard. The characterized in detail using various parameters order to obtain proper reference pressure, calibrate sensor. Both hardware filter and software were successfully employed eliminate unavoidable noise when the generated. Five variables considered optimize system. A larger effective area piston-cylinder assembly should be used faster pressure. To control peak variable drop...
Of the seven base units of international system units, SI, only kilogram is still defined in terms a material artefact. The watt balance an experimental approach which supports new definition constants nature. Some balances, such as NPL Mk II balance, use knives and flats for pivots they have advantages greater robustness over flexure this particular application. However, hysteresis can produce errors weighing through systematic shifts equilibrium point it desirable to investigate effect aid...
