Background: Achieving evidence-based practice change in surgery has always been challenging, with many aspects of common clinical evolving through lower-level studies that are susceptible to bias and confounding rather than high-quality evidence. This challenge is even more pronounced the setting low-volume, high-complexity surgical oncology. Additionally, when costs interventions or technologies high, designing developing such within financially constrained national healthcare systems...

There is controversy about the clinical consequences of intermediate alleles (IAs) in Huntington disease (HD). The main objective this study was to establish manifestations IA carriers for a prospective, international, European HD registry. We assessed cohort participants at risk with <36 CAG repeats huntingtin (HTT) gene. Outcome measures were Unified Huntington's Disease Rating Scale (UHDRS) motor, cognitive, and behavior domains, Total Functional Capacity (TFC), quality life (Short Form-36...

Imbalanced class distribution in the medical dataset is a challenging task that hinders classifying disease correctly. It emerges when number of healthy instances being much larger than instances. To solve this problem, we proposed undersampling to improve classification. This model named Hellinger Distance Undersampling (HDUS). employs measure resemblance between majority instance and its neighbouring minority separate classes effectively boost discrimination power for each class. An...

Cases of juvenile Huntington9s disease (JHD) represent the severe end phenotypic spectrum HD. The first detailed description JHD was written in German by Hoffmann 1888. We have translated article and report two cases English; interestingly, both transmitting parent mother. proportion HD with onset varies between surveys, as summarised Hayden 1981. updated extended this information based on 25 studies; ranges 1% 10.8% a mean 5.9% approximately 1.4% having before 10 years age. prevalence is...

Abstract Objectives Progression through the adenoma-adenocarcinoma sequence has been shown to demonstrate hallmark shifts in tissue lipidome. The incorporation of certain phospholipid subclasses into cellular membranes previously found correlate with susceptibility external stressors alteration membrane biodynamics. On this basis, it is hypothesized that modulation lipid may influence radioresistance rectal cancer. A desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry imaging (DESI-MSI)...
