The energy band structure of black phosphorus is calculated for the first time using tight binding approach. It shown that a narrow gap semiconductor with direct at zone edge in (0 0 k z ) direction. pressure dependence to be -2.61 ×10 -2 eV/kbar, its experimental counterpart being -2.51 eV/kbar. optical absorption and electrical conductivity single crystals are discussed terms structure.

First, the authors calculate frequency-dependent dielectric function of black phosphorus by using band structure and wavefunctions obtained self-consistent pseudopotential calculation. Then these results, they discuss optical properties such as KPS, UPS, plasmon frequency reflectance in visible, VUV soft X-ray regions. Experimental results for all are explained consistently theoretical results.

The spin-orbit couplings in the valence bands of zincblende and wurtzite structures such as cuprous halides ZnO are investivigated tight-binding approximation. It is shown that d-orbital cation contributes a negative term to coupling band at k =0 these compounds and, result it, splittings CuCl inverted.

The circadian clock is driven by cell-autonomous transcription/translation feedback loops. BMAL1 transcription factor an indispensable component of the positive arm this molecular oscillator in mammals. Here, we present a genetic screening assay for mutant proteins that based on real-time rhythm monitoring cultured fibroblasts. An extended perturbation theory of IV and III-V covalent semiconductors based on a model pseudopotential method is presented. In the theory, in addition to usual second order perturbation, higher terms with respect corresponding bonding effect are taken into account under so-called isotropic energy gap model. The applied calculation cohesive energies compressibilities these crystals. A good agreement between experiment obtained.

Needle-shaped and film- or plate-shaped black phosphorus single crystals were prepared by an improved bismuth-flux method. The conversion of red to white the growth from solution in liquid bismuth performed evacuated quartz-glass apparatus without breaking vacuum. Needle measured about 5 mm length 10 100 µm thickness. thickness film plate ranged 1 width was usually above µm, generally increasing with decreasing Some crystal morphologies observed analyzed crystallographically.

We have generated a monoclonal antibody (R-10G) specific to human induced pluripotent stem (hiPS)/embryonic (hES) cells by using hiPS (Tic) as an antigen, followed differential screening of mouse hybridomas with and embryonal carcinoma (hEC) cells. Upon western blotting R-10G, hiPS/ES cell lysates gave single but unusually diffuse band at position corresponding >250 kDa. The antigen protein was isolated from the (iPS) affinity column R-10G.
