The fluorescence from a turbid medium such as biologic tissue contains information about scattering and absorption, well the intrinsic fluorescence, i.e., an optically thin sample of pure fluorophores. interplay absorption can result in severe distortion spectral features. These distortions be removed by use photon-migration-based picture simultaneously acquired reflectance spectra. We present experimental evidence demonstrating validity approach for extracting wide range scatterer absorber...

1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ethyl sulfate (EMIES) is a novel ionic liquid with potential industrial applications. Attenuated total reflectance infrared spectroscopy, (1)H NMR and quantum chemical calculations were employed to investigate the molecular interactions between water EMIES. The spectra analyzed by two methods: excess spectroscopy two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy. This showed that hydrogen bond involving -SO(3) group in anion (ES) was enhanced, while those aromatic C-H...

The hydrogen-bonding properties of binary systems consisting a representative Brønsted acidic hydrophilic ionic liquid (IL) 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium trifluoroacetate ([Bmim][CF3CO2]) and cosolvent, water or methanol, over the entire concentration range have been investigated by methods attenuated total reflectance infrared spectroscopy, 1H NMR quantum chemical calculations. It has found that interactions between anion [CF3CO2]−, rather than cation, cosolvent molecules are dominant at low...

Infrared spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations have been applied to elucidate the hydrogen bonding interactions between water/dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) a representative pyridinium-based ionic liquid, 1-butylpyridinium tetrafluoroborate ([BuPy][BF(4)]). It has found that both solvents can interact with BuPy(+) cation through aromatic C-H. The strength of H-bonds involving C-H in water is similar pure [BuPy][BF(4)], but much stronger DMSO. For DMSO, when it forms its S=O...

We present a method based on photon migration of extracting intrinsic fluorescence spectra from turbid media, using concomitantly measured and reflectance. Intrinsic is defined as that due only to fluorophores, without interference the absorbers scatterers are present. Application taken with tissue phantoms human mucosal tissues demonstrates excellent agreement in both spectral line shape intensity between extracted directly spectra.
