Background Ground-glass opacity (GGO) is reported to be characteristic lepidic growth of neoplasm in subsolid nodules. In solid nodules lung cancer, however, there no feature reported. Purpose To study if are any thin-section CT findings tumor histology or they only related size the cancer. Material and Methods This included 106 peripheral cancers 3 cm smaller (56 adenocarcinomas, 33 squamous cell carcinomas, 17 small carcinomas) which 16-slice with 1 mm collimation was performed before...

This study evaluated the physical performance of a positron emission tomography (PET) system dedicated to head and breast according National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) NU2-2012 standard. The spatial resolution, sensitivity, scatter fraction, count rate characteristics, corrections for losses randoms, image quality were determined. All measurements performed NEMA acquisition protocols, but was assessed using brain-sized phantom. Furthermore, scans three-dimensional (3D)...

Deep learning (DL) has recently attracted attention for data processing in positron emission tomography (PET). Attenuation correction (AC) without computed (CT) is one of the interests. Here, we present, to our knowledge, first attempt generate an attenuation map human head via Sim2Real DL-based tissue composition estimation from model training using only simulated PET dataset. The DL accepts a two-dimensional non-attenuation-corrected image as input and outputs four-channel...

We acquired brain 18F-FDG and 18F-flutemetamol PET images using a time-of-flight system dedicated to the head (dhPET) conventional whole-body PET/CT (wbPET) evaluated clinical superiority of dhPET over wbPET. Methods: There were 18 subjects for study 17 study. first obtained wbPET, followed by dhPET. Images wbPET compared visual inspection, voxelwise analysis, SUV ratio (SUVR). Results: All judged as visually better than those The analysis demonstrated that accumulations in cerebellum,...

Background Differentiation between inflammation and fibrosis is an important clinical distinction in patients with chronic liver disease, which has been difficult so far MR elastography. Purpose To investigate whether dual‐frequency elastography can estimate necroinflammation of the improve diagnostic performance for staging fibrosis. Study Type Retrospective. Subjects In all, 30 (14 males, 16 females) disease. Field Strength/Sequence 1.5T/dual‐frequency at 60‐Hz 80‐Hz vibration frequencies....

The performances of photomultiplier tube (PMT)-based dedicated breast positron emission tomography (PET) and silicon (SiPM)-based time-of-flight (TOF) PET, which is applicable not only to imaging but also head imaging, were compared using a phantom study. A cylindrical containing four spheres (3–10 mm in diameter) filled with 18F-FDG at two signal-to-background ratios (SBRs), 4:1 8:1, was scanned. images, reconstructed three-dimensional list-mode dynamic row-action maximum likelihood...

Background Many studies have reported that transverse computed tomography (CT) imaging findings correlate with prognosis of patients small peripheral lung neoplasm lepidic growth. However, no examined this correlation the aid three-dimensional (3D) CT data. Purpose To determine most efficacious factor for differentiation growth type neoplasms good from those poor prognosis. Material and Methods We evaluated findings, nodule patterns, SUV max on FDG-PET/CT, as well volume ratios solid parts...

This study is to observe a thioacetamide (TAA) administered Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) model rats at three and ten days after TAA administration using liver MRI brain MR Spectroscopy (MRS) by use of 7T-MRI. Forty-two Wistar (control group, n = 14) were intraperitoneally 300 mg/kg (low-dose or 400 (high-dose doses for induced HE. The ascending aorta is poorly delineated on DWI due to the heartbeat, making it difficult assess activity of large vessel vasculitis using MRI. We investigated utility acceleration motion compensation diffusion-weighted imaging (aMC-DWI) compared with conventional (cDWI) detect active inflammation accenting aorta. phantom experiment revealed that aMC-DWI showed a significantly higher median visual score than cDWI in both experimenters (P =.048 for both). clinical study 11 patients had...

We investigated the usefulness of native T1 mapping using a modified look-locker inversion recovery (MOLLI) sequence, which can be used to evaluate Crohn's disease (CD). The nativeT1 value was measured by setting an ROI on intestinal wall map containing short-axis image intestine. Simple endoscopic activity score in CD (SES-CD) as reference standard for evaluating activity. A strong correlation found between and SES-CD ( r = 0.83; p 0.001).
