The three-level neutral-point-clamped voltage-source converter (NPC VSC) is widely used in high-power medium-voltage applications. unequal loss distribution among the semiconductors one major disadvantage of this popular topology. This paper studies problem NPC VSC and proposes active to overcome drawback. switch states commutations are analyzed. A loss-balancing scheme introduced, enabling a substantially increased output power an improved performance at zero speed, compared conventional VSC.

The three-level neutral-point-clamped voltage source inverter is widely used in high power, medium applications. This paper studies continuous and discontinuous pulse-width modulation for this inverter. Detailed analysis of shows that the average switching frequency not directly proportional to carrier or sampling frequency, since additional transitions occur between different regions discontinuity. At typical frequencies power applications (up 2 kHz) these contribute significantly...

This paper investigates the use of active neutral point clamp switches in a three-level NPC voltage source inverter to balance losses among semiconductors. Both control structure and algorithm are proposed which enable substantially increased output power an improved performance at zero speed.

Background: From 2000 to 2012, the annual incidence of inpatient treatment for distal radius fracture in Germany rose from 65 86 per 100 000 persons. It is unclear whether open reduction and volar angle-stable plate osteosynthesis (ORIF), a currently advocated treatment, yields better functional outcome or quality life than closed reposition casting. Methods: In ORCHID multi-center trial, 185 patients aged older with an AO type C radial were randomly assigned ORIF casting.Their health-related...

Global initiatives on climate protection and national sustainability policies are accelerating the replacement of fossil fuels with renewable energy sources. Many electricity suppliers engaged in efforts to monetize this transition 'green' services products, such as Green Electricity Tariffs. These promise customers that their supply includes a specific share green electricity, yet since often fail deliver those promises, many have lost trust suppliers. Further information asymmetries may...

The German Atopic Dermatitis Intervention Study (GADIS), which includes 823 children and adolescents, showed that age-related educational programmes are effective in the long-term management of atopic dermatitis. We investigated whether itch severity obtained scoring dermatitis (SCORAD) correlates with quality life coping behaviour parents. There were significant but low correlations between intensity. Itch sleeplessness significantly correlated. Significant parents measured. itching (8-12...

The increasing amount of power generation from weather-dependent renewable sources in Germany is projected to lead a considerable number hours which exceeds demand. One possibility take advantage this surplus through the Power-to-Heat technology. As combined heat and (CHP)-plants can be upgraded relatively easily with facility, huge potential developed German district heating grids are mainly served by CHP-plants. In paper technology evaluated for years 2015 2030 under different assumptions.

Without decarbonizing cities energy and climate objectives cannot be achieved as account for approximately two thirds of consumption emissions. This goal has to facilitated by promoting net-zero/positive buildings districts replicating them, driving towards sustainability goals. Many projects in smart demonstrate novel groundbreaking low-carbon solutions demonstration lighthouse projects. However, the historical, geographic, political, social economic context urban areas vary greatly, it is...
