Conductive polymers, such as polypyrrole, have recently been studied potential surfaces/matrices for cell- and tissue-culture applications. We investigated the adhesion proliferation properties of H9c2 cardiac myoblasts on a conductive polyaniline substrate. Both non-conductive emeraldine base (PANi) its salt (E-PANi) forms were found to be biocompatible, viz., allowing cell attachment and, in case E-PANi, maintaining electrical conductivity. By comparison tissue-culture-treated polystyrene...

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) remain a promising technology for clean energy conversion due to their low cost, simple manufacturing, and high scalability. However, keep these devices competitive against other photovoltaics like organic (OSCs) perovskite (PSCs), it is necessary enhance efficiency. These improvements can be achieved by optimizing the charge transport non-radiative carrier recombination within operating device. Here, we show design, fabrication, subsequent characterization...

The adsorption kinetics and equilibrium of methylene blue (MB) onto reticulated formic lignin (RFL) from sugar cane bagasse was studied. process is pH, temperature ionic strength (µ) dependent obeys the Langmuir model. Conditions for higher rate capacity were determined. faster (12 hours) (34.20 mg.g-1) observed at pH = 5.8 (acetic acid-sodium acetate aqueous buffer), 50 ºC 0.1 strength. Under (50 ºC) control occasional mechanical stirring it took 1 to 10 days reach equilibrium.

Abstract The combination of conducting polymers and hydrogels in a conductive interpenetrated polymer network (CIPN) is an interesting strategy to mimic muscles create bending actuators. Whereas the ensures electro pulse flux, hydrogel provides structural support similar human tissues. In this work, poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) polypyrrole (PPy) CIPNs were synthesized aqueous solution three different compositions characterized terms their morphology, composition, mechanical, electrochemical...

The performance of the electrospray technique was applied to obtain a gas diffusion layer (GDL) for proton exchange membrane fuel cell. It confirmed by confocal microscopy that polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE) impregnated into backbone, forming dispersed microscopic size homogeneously distributed over substrate. PTFE characterized infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis. In this work, we demonstrated use GDL prepared increases maximum power H2/O2 cell about 10% decreases loss...

The detection of the carcinogenic trihalomethanes (THM) in public water supplysystems using low-cost equipment has become an essential feature, since these compoundsmay be generated as by-products water-treatment processes. Here we report on a sensorarray that extends concept "electronic tongue" to detect small amounts ofbromoform, bromodichloromethane and dibromochloromethane, with limits aslow 0.02 mg L-1. sensor array was made up 10 sensing units, whichnanostructured films conducting...
