Electrical characteristics of thunderstorms on the central Tibetan Plateau at an altitude 4508 m have been studied. The evolution surface electric (E) field and E changes produced by lightning flashes under a representative thunderstorm revealed tripole charge structure with larger‐than‐usual lower positive center (LPCC). storms appear to begin dipole normal structure, rather than upper followed development weaker charge. flash rate is quite low average value usually 1 fl/min. IC were...

Alongside global warming, droughts are expected to increase in frequency, severity, and extent the near future, which will likely result significant impacts on forest growth, production, structure, composition, ecosystem services. However, due spatial temporal characteristics, it is difficult monitor assess potential effects of droughts. Remote sensing can provide an effective way obtain real-time conditions forests affected by drought offer a range insights into drought-induced changes...

Despite the fact that artificial intelligence (AI) techniques are increasingly influencing economic and societal dynamics, certain aspects of AI's role in structural change, such as enhancing resilience supply chains, have not been thoroughly explored academic research. Thus, we first identify thirteen variables influential shaping transformation food chains. These chosen based on financial, technological, social, organizational challenges to building within chain. Then, generate an...

This study examines how climate change affects maximum aviation payload capacity across China's diverse airport network. Analyzing projections from 30 CMIP6 models under the SSP5-8.5 scenario, specifically we quantify temperature and pressure effects on Maximum take-off weight (MTOW) at 184 Chinese airports. Results reveal that while all airports experience MTOW reductions by 2081-2100, high-plateau (>2,438m) face more moderate decreases (-1.25%) than plain (< 1,500m)...

The Mu Us Sandy Land is a key region of man-made desert control and farmland to forest (grass) return in China. Despite global change the strong influence human activities, vegetation this has been significantly improved restored. In study, multisource remote sensing data multiple indicators were used quantitatively monitor evaluate restoration status area. driving factors also analysed. results show that past 20 years, nearly entire substantively recovered. regional fractional cover...

The estimation of fractional vegetation cover (FVC) is important for identifying and monitoring desertification, especially in arid semiarid regions. By using regression pixel dichotomy models, we present the comparison Sentinel-2A (S2) multispectral instrument (MSI) Landsat 8 (L8) operational land imager (OLI) data regarding retrieval FVC a semi-arid sandy area (Mu Us Sandland, China, August 2016). According to the spectra of cloud-to-ground (CG) lightning discharge plasma captured by a slit-less spectrograph and information synchronous radiated electric field, temperatures, total intensity spectra, peak value current its action integral channel have been calculated. Furthermore, correlativity these parameters has analyzed for first time. The results indicate that positive correlation in different strokes one CG lightning, temperature is direct proportion return lightning.

This paper reports the vertical electric field changes measured at 60 m and 550 for two altitude‐triggered lightning discharges analyzes data with leader models. The results show that change waveform produced by bidirectional leader/return stroke is asymmetrical V‐shaped half‐peak width of about 100 μ s. following dart sequences also appear V‐shaped, widths these sites are 14 s 103 s, respectively. difference in waveforms can be explained using source charge model. leaders 17.9 kV/m 1.3...
