Injury of endothelial cells has been assumed to be an initial trigger the development atherosclerosis. In this study, we investigated molecular mechanisms cell death induced by hypoxia, which leads oxidative stress. To study relation between hypoxia-induced and activation nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) in a hypoxic state, evaluated effect 2 antioxidant drugs, probucol pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (PDTC), on human apoptosis. Although treatment aortic resulted significant decrease number increase...

Newman-Kwart rearrangement (NKR) is a useful method for synthesizing S-aryl thiocarbamates from O-aryl thiocarbamates. Harsh temperature conditions are required, however, leading to substrate degradation and side reactions. Moreover, reactions using heteroaromatic substrates quite rare. Herein, we report Bi(OTf)3-catalyzed NKR under ambient conditions. The reaction extended not only aza-arene but also thiophene substrates.

Pseudoindoxyl is a partial skeleton found in various natural products. Its light-absorption properties make it useful for the design of functional molecules. However, versatile synthesis methods have not yet been reported. In this report, we present synthetic method pseudoindoxyls using direct S0 → Tn transition under visible light irradiation. We also discuss application as photocatalysts.

Arteriovenous fistula puncture pain is a serious problem for patients undergoing dialysis and good indication topical anesthetics. No previous study has compared lidocaine/prilocaine cream (EMLA) with lidocaine tape relief during arteriovenous in maintenance hemodialysis. To this end, we conducted multicenter randomized crossover including 66 (mean age, 65.8 years; males, 57.6%) hemodialysis thrice/week. Subjects were assigned to Sequence EL (EMLA administration followed by lidocaine, 1-week...

The total synthesis of dragmacidins G and H was achieved for the first time by employing nucleophilic aromatic substitution site-selective cross-coupling reactions using appropriately functionalized pyrazines as substrates. evaluation antibacterial activities dragmacidin G, H, synthetic analogues against Staphylococcus aureus efflux pump-deficient Salmonella Typhimurium revealed that presence a Br group on indole ring adjacent to sulfide unit important increasing activities.

Aim Conclusions regarding the best rituximab (RTX) dose to maintain remission and reduce immunosuppressant dependence in adult patients with steroid-dependent minimal change nephrotic syndrome (MCNS) are inconsistent. We report first low-dose (l 375 mg/m2 BSA) RTX therapy, administered once every 6 months. Materials methods In this retrospective single-arm cohort study, we investigated safety efficacy of therapy ultimately stop prednisolone (PSL) cyclosporine (CyA) treatment. 13 (8 men 5...

The estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) at 1 year post-transplantation is a well-established predictor of long-term graft survival; however, its predictive accuracy needs improvement. We retrospectively analyzed data from 51 kidney transplant recipients Kanazawa Medical University Hospital (January 2001–February 2015). Cox regression was used to identify risk factors for death-censored loss and create nomogram predict survival 15 years post-transplantation. ultimately included in the...

Reduction of septal mass by inducing infarction using catheter techniques is a new therapy for hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM). We report case severe HOCM that was dramatically improved this non-surgical treatment. A 60-year-old woman with had suffered dyspnea (NYHA class III) syncopal attack despite medical Left heart catheterization showed resting pressure gradient across the left ventricular outflow tract 156 mmHg. The slag produced as by-product in steel-making processes is utilized for various purpose due to its special qualities. Bacteria or other microorganisms generally form the biofilm. They are formed at interface between materials and water environment by action of bacteria. Biofilm can cause problems. Therefore, control biofilm formation needed. In this study, we focused on application marine environments carried out a research biofouling mortars mixed with iron/steel slags through immersion...

The recently introduced 320-detector row computed tomography (320-row CT) allows very fast volumetric acquisition of the entire heart. Because total amount contrast agent required for CT coronary angiography (CTCA) depends directly on time, 320-row CTCA would substantially reduce dose. objective this retrospective study was to evaluate feasibility volume reduction compared with 64-detector (64-row CTCA). We retrospectively reviewed consecutive 320- and 64-row data (16 eligible cases each;...
