Our goal was to evaluate the combined effects of balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) followed by endarterectomy (PEA) treat high-surgical-risk patients with chronic thromboembolic hypertension (CTEPH).This study included 58 CTEPH who had vascular resistance ≥1000 dyn·s/cm5, mean arterial pressure (mPAP) ≥45 mmHg or mPAP 38-44 comorbidities. Of these, 21 underwent therapy BPA PEA (BPA group) and 37 direct (non-BPA group). Preoperative postoperative results were compared between 2 groups. An...

Pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) is the treatment of choice for chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) but can result in respiratory and cardiac complications that may require extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). We reviewed our experience with ECMO patients undergoing PEA.Between January 2012 August 2015, 35 underwent PEA CTEPH. In all, four (11%) required veno-arterial (V-A) support due to severe failure, including reperfusion edema persistent hypertension. No...

Secondary AEF complication of previous surgery, which can be more critical and challenging than primary AEF. The number secondary increasing due to increase in the thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR). Although TEVAR has become successful alternative surgical strategy for aneurysms, after might other because severe adhesion between esophagus residual wall. Methods This study...

The purpose of this study was to determine the predictive ability neutrophilia, lymphocytopenia, and neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) for overall mortality after EVAR AAA.Data on patients with AAA treated by between March 2012 December 2016 were obtained from a prospectively maintained database at Tokyo Medical University Hospital, Tokyo, Japan. NLR calculated dividing absolute neutrophil count lymphocyte count. A cut-off value total WBC count, determined according receiver operating...

We aimed to review 50 consecutive Japanese abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and common iliac (CIAA) patients evaluate the 2-year outcomes, particularly endoleak sac shrinkage, of Endurant stent graft.Between June 2012 January 2014, AAA CIAA underwent EVAR with graft. Clinical outcomes overall survival, aneurysm-related secondary intervention-free survival were analyzed; endoleaks changes also evaluated. The Kaplan-Meier estimates for 85.4%, 97.7% one device-related death, 84.9%, respectively....

Some recent reports have demonstrated that preoperative Adamkiewicz artery (AKA) identification and its targeted reconstruction has provided satisfactory outcomes with respect to spinal cord protection. This paper investigates the impact of AKA on reducing incidence injury (SCI) in open repair (OR) endovascular (EVR) descending thoracic aortic (dTA) thoracoabdominal aneurysm (TAA) repair. The clinical data patients dTA TAA treated between 2011 2022 were investigated. Internal mammary artery (IMA) aneurysms are very rare, have a high risk of rupture, and can cause hemothorax. Here, we report the case 33-year-old man with metachronal bilateral IMA aneurysms. He had Marfan syndrome diagnosed by genetic testing. We carried out endovascular repair coil embolization. has survived without additional treatment for 7 years. Endovascular is feasible even in patient syndrome.

Anticoagulation control in active inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is challenging because of hypercoagulation and bleeding complications. The strategy for treating chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) IBD remains controversial only a few studies have reported its successful treatment (Kim Lang.
