Antimicrobial activity of dichloromethane and ethanol extracts five compounds: pinostrobin (I), pinocembrin (II), tectochrysin (III), galangin 3-methyl ether (IV) tiliroside (V) isolated from Lychnophora markgravii aerial parts against fifteen microorganisms was determined. The structures these compounds were elucidated based on ESI-MS NMR spectroscopic data. Both showed antimicrobial several tested microorganisms. Pinostrobin, the strongest antibacterial antifungal effects.
The essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation from leaves of Anaxagorea brevipes was analysed gas chromatography fitted with a flame ionisation detector (GC-FID) and coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Thirty one components were identified, representing around 75.7% total oil. major β-eudesmol (13.16%), α-eudesmol (13.05%), γ-eudesmol (7.54%), guaiol (5.12%), caryophyllene oxide (4.18%) β-bisabolene (4.10%). showed antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria yeast the MIC...
Extreme environments Morrope and Bayovar Salt lagoons, several ecosystems microhabitats remain unexplored, little is known about the diversity of Actinobacteria . We suggest that endemic bacteria present in this extreme environment a source active molecules with anticancer, antimicrobial, antiparasitic properties. Using phenotypic genotypic characterization techniques, including 16S rRNA sequencing, we identified these as members genera Streptomyces , Pseudonocardia Staphylococcus Bacillus...
The essential oils from leaves, twigs and trunk bark of Onychopetalum amazonicum R.E. Fr. (Annonaceae), obtained by hydrodistillation, were analysed GC GC-MS, also evaluated for in vitro antimicrobial activity. Forty-one compounds, which correspond to 75.0-92.2% the oil components, identified. Major compounds sesquiterpenes, including (E)-caryophyllene, caryophyllene oxide, spathulenol, α-gurjunene, allo-aromadendrene α-epi-cadinol. activities against four bacteria strains five pathogenic...
Chemical investigation of Sinningia warmingii (Gesneriaceae) tubers lead to the isolation two new dimeric naphthoquinone derivatives, named warmingiins A and B, besides six known compounds, aggregatin E, F, tectoquinone, halleridone, cleroindicin cornoside. All compounds were identified by spectroscopic analysis, mainly nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) mass spectrometry (MS), comparison with literature. The structure warmingiin A, which is an artifact was confirmed X-ray diffraction...
In this study, the antioxidant and cytotoxic activity, phenolic content HPLC-DAD/ESI-MS profile of ethanolic extracts five Amaranthaceae plants collected in south Brazil were investigated: these Alternanthera philoxeroides (Mart.)Griseb.(I), hirtula (Mart.)R.E.Fr. (II), praelonga A. St. -Hil.(III), Froelichia tomentosa (C.Mart.)Moq.(IV) Pfaffia tuberosa (Spreng.)Hicken (V).The potential was determined using DPPH ORAC-FL assays. The total measured Folin-Ciocalteu reagent. The I, II, IV V showed...
