Flavonoids, a polyphenolic compound family, and the vanadium compounds have interesting biological, pharmacological, medicinal properties. We report herein antitumor actions of complex [VO(chrysin)2EtOH]2 (VOchrys) on MG-63 human osteosarcoma cell line. Oxovanadium(IV), chrysin VOchrys caused concentration-dependent inhibition viability. The was strongest antiproliferative agent (p < 0.05). Cytotoxicity genotoxicity studies also showed concentration effect. Reactive oxygen species (ROS)...
Abstract The thrombin receptor was the first cloned G protein–coupled reported to be activated by proteolytic cleavage of its extracellular amino terminus. A second proteinase-activated (PAR-2) recently and expressed in Xenopus laevis oocytes. PAR-2 trypsin a peptide (SLIGRL) derived from new Since mRNA detected highly vascularized organs, we compared physiological functions vascular endothelium. Thrombin both elicited endothelium-dependent relaxations prostaglandin F 2α (PGF )–contracted...
Intracerebroventricular (ICV) administration of neuropeptide Y (NPY) has been shown to decrease energy expenditure, induce hypothermia, and stimulate food intake. Recent evidence suggested that the Y5 receptor may be a significant mediator NPY-stimulated feeding. The present study attempts further characterize role NPY Y5-receptor subtypes in feeding expenditure regulation. Satiated Long-Evans rats with temperature transponders implanted interscapular brown adipose tissue (BAT) displayed...
DNA from neoplastic hepatic tissues of feral fish environmentally exposed to carcinogens was shown contain the guanine-derived lesion 2,6-diamino-4-hydroxy-5-formamido-pyrimidine (FapyGua). This modification appears arise attack hydroxyl radical at C-8 guanine. Concentrations ranged 0.97 5.11 nmol/mg DNA. FapyGua not detected in non-neoplastic tissue and has been previously reported occur animal tissues. The present findings support view that reactive oxygen species damage living systems...
A new Cu(II) complex with the antihypertensive drug telmisartan, [Cu8Tlm16]·24H2O (CuTlm), was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis electronic, FTIR, Raman electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. The crystal structure (at 120 K) solved X-ray diffraction methods. octanuclear is a hydrate of but otherwise isostructural to previously reported [Cu8Tlm16] complex. crystallizes in tetragonal P4/ncc space group = b 47.335(1), c 30.894(3) Å, Z 4 molecules per unit cell giving...
